My first stay here was excellent, and I highly recommended this hotel to my friends visiting Indonesia. However, during my second visit, which happened to be over New Year's Eve, the breakfast service was incredibly poor, likely due to the large number of guests.
The staff's training seemed completely inadequate. An employee confidently led us to a table, only to stop halfway, realize the previous guests had just left, and the table hadn't been cleaned yet.
While they were cleaning, they asked us not to leave our seats, otherwise, the table would be given to someone else. So, we had to stand next to the table and watch them clean it. That in itself was fine, but the placemats weren't replaced, just wiped down. They were about to place new cutlery directly on placemats that the previous guests had used. It took me reminding three different service staff members, and eventually getting upset, before they finally changed them.
Replenishing the food at the buffet and essential items like cups and cutlery was very slow. With so many people, there was very little left to eat.
In conclusion, this hotel usually maintains a good standard, but during peak holiday periods with large crowds, the staff's lack of training and capability becomes glaringly obvious.
