I was a bit worried about visiting in the middle of winter, but the ocean view with the snowy landscape was absolutely beautiful and quite a sight to behold. The hotel seemed to have been renovated the previous year, as everything, including the plumbing, was clean and made for a comfortable stay. The indoor heated pool (though quite cold, haha!) was also great, with plenty of benches and tables, allowing us to enjoy our time at the hotel even during a snowstorm. Its location might be on the westernmost edge of the Old Port downtown area, but the town is compact enough that walking everywhere was perfectly fine.

You can overlook Portland's Old Port and the bay. The location is pretty good. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Pier 60 to eat lobster. The disadvantage is that the air conditioner in the room is noisy, but everything else is okay.
