Pros: Convenient location. Cons: The air conditioning was very noisy, and the room had a strong, unpleasant smell, like mold or a sewer. Even after spraying with alcohol disinfectant once, it still smelled terrible. Proceed with caution!

Can definitely recommend to solo travelling women. Felt totally safe, and was clean. The host was very welcoming. It’s also quite automated with check in, check out, key card, and I like the way the hostel has been made. It is clear the owner put a lot of thought into it. There were ammenities i did not expect, such as some pads, as well as toothbrushes, and water drinking station, disposable towels… thank you to the host for providing these!

The location is absolutely fantastic and super convenient. It's right above Tsim Sha Tsui station, truly in the heart of the city, making it easy to get anywhere. You can walk to the ferry terminal in about ten minutes to catch the Star Ferry, and it's only an eight-minute walk to Victoria Harbour's Avenue of Stars. The area has excellent amenities, surrounded by cosmetic stores, souvenir shops, and pharmacies, plus KFC, McDonald's, and 7-Eleven. The famous Instagram-worthy Wah So Bing Sutt is just a block away. Disneyland is about 45 minutes away. For Hong Kong's prime city center, this price offers incredible value for money! The hotel is very clean, and the bedding was freshly changed. The hygiene is also good. It's a self-check-in hostel, and the owner lives nearby, so any issues can be quickly addressed. Overall, a great stay experience, highly recommend!

Great location, but a bit tricky to find without the owner's directions. The soundproofing isn't great, so earplugs are a plus. You have to take care of your own trash, and the towels provided are single-use.

Wonderful place with nice view and most hospitable host ever, thank you! Spend there almost a week, good bed and blankets, shower is fine too. Pretty sure to stay there again next time being in Hong Kong

Truly dreadful, like a prison cell and worse. There's no staff anywhere, you check in like Airbnb and you choke on the sewage stench, my room had no windows despite being called City View. I complained to Trip and Trip negotiated an upgrade, for extra money to a room with a window, the view then was onto the street,ok . But the sewage stench in the bathroom meant I had to sleep with a mask on. Do not , EVER, book that dump. Spend another 10 bucks and book the Silka Seaview Hotel, not far away, and a very good place to stay. I'm in HK once a month and stay in different places, The **** hole that is Starfish hostel is akin to Chungking Mansions in the 1980's, don't book it unless you enjoy a filthy cage room, they have 8 rooms , 3 have windows to the street. Vomit 🤢🤢🤢
