Gaga Bees Yala

We stayed at Gaga Bees Yala for just one night, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of our entire trip! The team organized a wonderful morning safari for us with their own guides, and everything was perfectly arranged. They even prepared a breakfast box for us to take along, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience even smoother!!! Our room, named “LEOPARD,” was absolutely amazing, clean, spacious, and full of character. We instantly felt comfortable and relaxed. The food in the small restaurant was delicious, freshly made, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was peaceful, warm, and authentic, and the staff were kind and attentive throughout our stay. Even though it was only one night, we left with beautiful memories and a big smile. We truly wish we had stayed longer! Highly recommended and definitely a place we’d love to return to. 🐆🌿

The staff here are amazing — they truly can’t do enough for you. The pool is stunning, with incredible views and the sounds of nature all around — it’s such a peaceful and beautiful setting to relax in. They can also help you organise your Yala National Park safari, which can easily be arranged the night before, so there’s no need to book ahead. The price covers a private vehicle just for you and your group, which is a great touch. One thing to note: the hotel only accepts cash, which wasn’t an issue for us as there’s an ATM nearby, but it’s worth keeping in mind before you arrive. Gamith was especially helpful throughout our stay — friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Whether you’re here to unwind or to explore the surrounding wildlife, this is a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommend!

Very warm and hospitable welcome…… all the comfort in a laidback lagoon hut atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. We stayed for one night and joined a safari to Yala national park, arranged by the hotel. All staff members were extremely helpful.

After some super tents en lodges in Gal Oya, this was a real disappointment. The location was ok, the people were friendly, but the accommodation itself was not meeting our expectations. Also a lot of things went wrong. The food was ok, but not above average. Overrated to us.

Hotel in general is fine, the place is nice and the swimming pool as well (only thing, expect some small animals like lizards, frogs or spiders in the room since you are in nature). But don't trust them on the safari they recommend you since the safari guys STOLE MONEY from our bag!! Here is a summary of what happened: we counted our money the night before and from when we got into the safari car we had our bag with us the whole time. But at some point the guys (there was a driver and a guide) started talking in their language, stopped the car in a hidden place of the park and they told us to get out and to stretch a bit our legs (we were not sure but we did what they told us leaving our bag in their car). When we arrived in the hotel we needed to pay for the checkout and we suddenly realised our money was gone!! So not only they put our lives in danger telling us to walk around in the park but they also stole our money from our bag. We told the hotel personel the situation and they gave us the number of the manager of the safari company (Mr Asanka) that didn't do anything even after explaining the whole situation and recognising it is not allowed to get out of the car in the park. Honestly the hotel personnel could have helped us more because it was their recommendation, so in the end we are very disappointed with them.

We had a memorable stay at Gaga Bees Yala. This was our last stop in Sri Lanka after a week moving around the country, and what a perfect place to end our holiday in a peaceful and relaxing way. We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful lodge and did a 7-hour safari, booked and arranged by the Gaga Bees team. We highly recommend the lodge, the team is extremely welcoming and friendly, the accommodations are comfortable and the cuisine is delicious.
