Hotel Pepe Vieira

This was a very unique stay, a hotel that was built around their Michelin starred restaurant. It is in the middle of the “nowhere”, which had a secluded and oasis feel. The room was very interestingly designed, with an all around glass that had a very scenic effect during the day. At night, we were told to let down the all black covering to block out the light. This was a little bit intense for us and could feel a bit claustrophobic, but we got used to it in the end. The food at the restaurant was of course the star of the show. We had the dinner which was a good experience, but we enjoyed the breakfast even more! All the ingredients were extremely fresh and delicious. And the view is unbeatable. For breakfast, the set menu was originally all sweet items, but they were happy to accommodate our requests for eggs. I would suggest adding a savory element to the breakfast. I would also suggest for the hotel to have “room service” or snacks available for guests during the day. Since the hotel is remote, and the towns nearby all “shut down” in the middle of the day, if the guests wanted food it would be great to have some options from the hotel outside of set meal times. Staff were all extremely nice and helpful.

It is an absolutely overpriced, overrated place. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms, the living room, the dining room, overall is beautiful, but the food is overrated, they brought us a cold and hard "just baked croissant" and a very smelly fish. The staff has absolutely no premium rating training, nobody receives you properly for the price you are paying and there are no bell boys, we had to carry our luggage to our room with an exterior ramp, with divisions between them where the luggage wheels got stuck every meter and a half. And after our stay, then the same story, to the car. We would have felt happy to arrive in such a place for the third of its price, not a penny more! And we were lucky enough to cancel dining there -when we had breakfast the following morning, we were happy to have cancelled dinner. It is a shame Relais & Chateaux do not supervise the quality and training of the staff. They do not deserve to belong to such a famous Hotel chain.

The Restaurant Hotel Pepe Vieira made a very positive impression on us. The emphasis on satisfaction, both in the stay and the dining experience, is a clear sign of the quality of service offered. The staff offers exceptional service, which is crucial for a luxury stay. Additionally, the beautiful design also contributes to the overall experience. This is definitely a place worth considering for a luxurious stay.

Just one word ………….… amazing I was here with my partner and I can only recommend it. I was satisfied from the beginning to the end of the whole stay .. so don't hesitate and visit the hotel ……..
