Château de Perreux, The Originals Collection

We had a very nice stay at Châteaux Perreux Many thanks to Olivier and all the crew for their very nice welcoming and all the tips they shared with us for the Châteaux de la Loire that are worth to visit around. Special mention to Poppy the cutest member of the crew :)

The chateau is build in front of a cave system that has been expanded to facilitate the next set of rooms. You can stay at the main house, or in a cave with luxurious wellness facility. There is no restaurant, but breakfast is served, and Amboise is only 5 min away. Your hosts are fantastique, especially Young Ali, who seems to understand the term hospitality. The chateau is placed in a beautiful park with a large pool, where you can wander for hours. An excellent base of operations if you want to discover the Loire valley and het chateaus, and return back to peace and tranquility…

Fascinating place, especially the new rooms inside the cave, they were spectacular! One of the most unique places we have stayed. The main chateau is also wonderful, with a very fresh breakfast and large grounds to walk. Not far by car from Amboise, a great spot for chateau touring. Very uncomfortable check in initially - with a service dog - the owner got quite angry that we did not tell him ahead of time, and we worried we’d lose our reservation. He didn’t care it was a service animal (which by law have special privileges in France, just like the US). Once he calmed down, he was quite delightful and we enjoyed the stay. The dog was allowed off leash all throughout the grounds. It just gave us a sour taste for the welcome. Otherwise it was wonderful and we’d consider staying again.

It's a beautiful chateau that dates back to the 16th century (at least). At one point owned and designed by one of Haussman's architects, the brick and stone facade is classic. You could get lost in the gardens (that's a good thing!) and they are thoughtfully landscaped and beautiful. We enjoyed our one night stay very much, grateful for the little elevator that took us up to our room on the 3rd floor. The room decor was clean and elegant, we had a tub, the bathroom was very clean, the bed was so good I slept for an unheard of 8 hours! Breakfast was delicious: excellent coffee, perfect soft boiled egg, still warm baguette and very fresh croissant. Fruit juice was so good. Honey and jams from the property. Public rooms and our room were highlighted by very nice original prints by well known modern French artists. The staff members were warm, polite, and welcoming. We hope to return.

Had a wonderful 2-night stay at this charming chateau. The walls are steeped in history, and the lovely host, Olivier, has a million stories about the chateau and the surrounding area. He is a mine of information and happy to share his recommendations for wine-tasting and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with everything being both fresh and locally produced. Would not hesitate to recommend Chateau de Perreux to anyone looking for a restful and enchanting few days in the Loire region.

Olivier was an exceptional host! Incredibly welcoming, gave us a tour of the hotel and our rooms, called the restaurant to make dinner reservations for us that evening and gave us several other recommendations. Poppy (dog) was so sweet, my wife wanted to take him home with us. The rooms were HUGE and perfectly decorated. I only wish we set aside time to walk the grounds / park across the road/stream. This by far was our favorite stay in all of France! We highly recommend!
