Donghu Hotel Shanghai

A uniquely retro hotel, very photogenic throughout. The rooms are spacious and bright with large windows that open wide. The staff are also very warm and attentive. The breakfast is a rich, Western-style spread. For parking, there's always someone to help you find a spot and guide you. I highly recommend Donghu Hotel; it's also very convenient for a Citywalk nearby.

The room was spacious, the service attitude was good, transportation was convenient, and the surrounding environment was pleasant.

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation. Everything related to tourism and culture is great, and the pool is absolutely amazing.

The Donghu Hotel is located in the former French Concession, with 'Julu Road, Fumin Road, Changde Road' (Jing'an District's historic preservation area) and Wukang Road just around the corner. A 5-minute walk south takes you to Huaihai Road and IAPM, while a 10-minute walk north leads to the Jing'an Temple commercial district. The location is absolutely unbeatable. We had booked a Garden Sun Room, but were upgraded to a Garden Balcony Room. The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable. It truly lives up to its reputation as an old-brand state guesthouse in Shanghai.

The location is great, with many streets to explore and plenty of restaurants and bars to relax at in the evenings. The hotel itself is a beautiful old villa. The room was quite clean, though the daily cleaning could be a bit more thorough – dust on the windowsill and a paper ball under the table stayed there throughout our stay. I wish they'd clean the shower drain of hair daily; after two days, it started to clog. Since it was late and my child was asleep, calling for service wasn't convenient, so I had to deal with it myself. Otherwise, the hygiene was decent. The service was good; toiletries were delivered promptly, and the staff was very friendly. Despite being an older building, the room had no strange odors, which was a big plus. I'd definitely recommend it and would choose to stay here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

This hotel is steeped in history, a high-end, elegant old villa with beautiful surroundings. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The surrounding area offers restaurants, entertainment, and shopping all within easy reach. Highly recommended!

The photos didn't do it justice, but my stay was surprisingly great! The hotel is in a quiet spot yet close to all the action, with tons of restaurants and cafes nearby. The front desk staff were also super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!
