Smile Hotel Premium Hakodate Goryokaku

The hotel is a bit far from Hakodate Station and the main city attractions, but the room was quite clean and the price was very reasonable. I accidentally lost my key card and had to pay a 2000 yen replacement fee, but overall it was a good stay.

I stayed in a twin room, and it was very clean and excellent. There are many great local food spots nearby, like soup curry, all-you-can-eat wagyu, and hamburgers, all highly recommended by others.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Goryokaku tram station. There are convenience stores, a Loft, and Starbucks nearby. It's also not far from Goryokaku Tower, where you can find Lucky Pierrot burgers and Shunka Sushi. A slightly longer walk will take you to Rokkatei for some delicious pastries. I arrived early and the staff kindly stored my luggage for me. They even provided pajamas, which was a lovely touch! 🥰

The location is superb, and we found a fantastic value-for-money wagyu set menu not far from the hotel. The snow scenery combined with the Japanese garden offered a unique charm.
