Hotel Grand İstanbul

The hotel is well located, and the rooms are very clean, but the blanket to cover yourself is very thin. The breakfast is basic. On the 2nd day of my stay, the electricity was gone from 11:30 am until 6PM the generator was not working. The toilet in the reception is clogged and not cleaned, while it is located near the kitchen. The hotel needs to make more efforts…

Best budget hotel near metro and restaurants. Just the area a bit noisy cuz there's a workshop nearby but overall the hotel is good

I stayed here for 10 days with my family in August 2024. It was our first trip to Istanbul to meet with friends. Could not fault the hotel! Hence why I keep coming back. This was my 4th stay here (after staying in 2 other hotels that I won't mention) First of all, the staff there are so pleasant and polite, they can not please you enough. It is spotlessly clean and the room/beds are very comfortable. They serve a lovely Turkish breakfast (that i keep missing because of staying out late and absorbing the Istanbul atmosphere) Yes, there are little issues like every hotel has but I will choose thise one every time I visit Istanbul. Can't wait for my next stay

I have learnt my lesson pay £50-£70 more and you can stay in a far better hotel with better facilities. It’s a crammed hotel with poorly maintained rooms and toilets. The lift is very old and can fit only two people. There is a kitchen that you have to go past to get in the lift and the smell is horrible, they must have some clogged up pipes down there. The bathroom was extremely small, it was very hard getting in and out of.  We didn’t have breakfast but it was just eggs and cheese and salad. The location wasn’t too bad but the surrounding area wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing.

If you're looking for luxury, this probably isn't the hotel for you, however, if you are on a budget and you just need a home base from which to explore the city, this was a perfectly fine place to stay. The rooms are sparse, but comfortable. The air conditioning was solid. It is a very short walk both from a Metro station, as well as from a tramway station that gives you very fast access to several key tourist highlights (the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar, the port, the Hippodrome, Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, ect). Indeed, it was actually a pretty pleasant walk to those locations from this hotel, and I often didn't even use the tram. The neighborhood seemed at first glace to be a bit run down, but it is quite lively and safe, with families and children out walking around, and street cafes filled with patrons. And a short walk up the tramline gets you to a 'nicer' part of town, filled with cafes and shops of a higher-end. The staff was very kind and helpful. So again, if you need something practical and are ready to forego luxury, The Hotel Grand Istanbul is a very cost-effective option.

I requested a room that was not on the corner, but I was still assigned a corner room. The blanket also made my skin itchy. However, the receptionist was very kind and promptly replaced it with a clean blanket, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the bathroom shower was very dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was also no electric kettle in the room, so if you wanted hot water, you had to go downstairs to get it

My two friends and I had a great stay at Hotel Grand Istanbul. We enjoyed everything, especially the breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth a visit! Definitely a great value for the price.
