Arte Salzburg Review 🇦🇹
Modern comfort, excellent location, and a Salzburg travel hack
Overall, I would definitely consider staying at Arte Salzburg again. It offers a modern, comfortable stay with one major advantage: its location right next to Salzburg's main train station.

🛏️ Room Comfort & Design — 8/10
The hotel has a very modern aesthetic, and the king-size bed was comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's rest. Although the room is a little compact, it gets the job done without compromising the essentials for a comfortable stay.
One unique feature is the open-shower design. It gives the bathroom a more modern feel, but it's something to consider if you're travelling with a friend or someone you're not sharing that level of privacy with.
📍 Location & Accessibility — 10/10
For me, this is the hotel's biggest selling point.
Arte Salzburg is right next to the main train station, making it convenient for getting around Salzburg and travelling beyond the city.
Here's a useful travel hack: If you're planning a day trip to Hallstatt or other destinations with buses departing from the main station, staying nearby can make your morning much easier. For services that board at the station, getting on at the first stop may also give you a better chance of securing a seat before the bus gets crowded.
For travellers who want to maximise their time and minimise unnecessary transfers, this location is a major advantage.
🧖 Facilities — 8/10
The hotel provides a sauna and gym facilities, with access to a large gym next to the hotel.
I genuinely regret not bringing my sportswear because exploring a local gym while travelling would have been a great experience. If you enjoy maintaining your workout routine on holiday, this is definitely worth looking into before your stay.
🔌 In-Room Amenities — 5/10
The essentials are covered, but don't expect a particularly extensive range of in-room amenities.
Available features include:
- Hair dryer
- Cable TV with Austrian channels
- HDMI port for connecting your own device
- Easy-to-use temperature controls
However, there is no iron or ironing board, and laundry facilities are not provided according to my experience. If you're travelling for an extended period or packing outfits that need ironing, plan accordingly.
💰 Value for Money — 8/10
Considering the modern design, comfortable bed, and excellent accessibility, I found the overall offering worthwhile for the price I paid.
The compact room and limited amenities are worth factoring in, but if your priorities are comfort, convenience, and a good base for exploring Salzburg, Arte Salzburg is a strong option.
Final Verdict
I'd happily stay at Arte Salzburg again. It's particularly suitable for travellers who prioritise a modern hotel, a comfortable night's sleep, and easy access to trains and buses.
My biggest takeaway? Don't underestimate the value of staying next to the main train station when planning day trips from Salzburg. It can make your itinerary significantly more convenient.
