Five-star service review! Special shout-out to Ms. Shuang at the front desk! ✨ We booked two rooms of different types and requested — in our booking notes — that they be on the same floor for easier care of our elderly family member. Unfortunately, the reservations team’s communication felt somewhat unenthusiastic. But once we arrived, Ms. Shuang at the front desk went above and beyond: she proactively coordinated and successfully secured two adjacent rooms on the same floor — truly thoughtful and暖心! The location is outstanding — just a 5-minute walk to the Tianjin Eye. There’s also a wide variety of restaurants right downstairs. The room furnishings are a bit dated, but overall still in good condition. Breakfast offers a generous variety. 🅿️ We arrived around 5:00 PM — the surface parking lot was already full, but we got lucky as a car pulled out just as we arrived. We didn’t check the underground parking.

Choosing the Ferris Wheel View Room at Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside for this trip to Tianjin was a truly wise decision. The room was spacious and the location very convenient, with the cruise pier and Dabeiyuan Temple both within walking distance, and ample parking space. Pulling back the curtains revealed a panoramic view of the Ferris Wheel and the dazzling nightscape of the Haihe River. The breakfast offered a rich variety, including local traditional favorites like Jianbing Guozi (omelet pancake), Taufuna (savory tofu pudding), and fried rice cakes. The Chinese restaurant provided a wide selection of small dishes and mains delivered straight to the room with no service charge, which was extremely convenient. Service requests were handled promptly, and the overall value for money was high. A minor disappointment was that the EV charging stations were not yet operational, the swimming pool was closed, and the showerhead holder was loose and couldn't be adjusted for height. All in all, it's a great value, and the view room is well worth the money.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, within walking distance of the pier. Right outside the window, you can see Tianjin's iconic landmark, the Tianjin Eye. Dining and shopping are extremely convenient nearby, and the hotel also has its own reasonably priced restaurant, plus an on-site parking lot.

Overall, everything was great and the scenery was beautiful. The kids loved it. The only minor drawback was that the TV was a bit too old, but we were satisfied with everything else. The food was also excellent with a wide variety of choices.

An established older hotel with great management and service. The main selling point is its fantastic location—you can see the Ferris wheel from the room, and there's a pier right downstairs, making it very convenient to take a boat.

Had a fantastic stay! The front desk proactively upgraded me to a suite, which offered an even clearer view of the Ferris wheel. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The service from the front desk, customer service, and housekeeping staff was excellent, even with the holiday crowd; they were proactive and wonderful. I'd definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

This hotel was absolutely terrible, especially for nearly a thousand yuan a night. The facilities were old, the room was dirty, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell. We arrived close to 9 PM on the first day. After checking in, we got to our floor and were immediately hit by a musty odor. The room key was an old-fashioned insert card, from who-knows-what era. We tried multiple times but couldn't get the door to open. We saw a phone in the elevator lobby on our floor and tried calling guest services for help. After dialing numerous times, no one answered! We had no choice but to go back down to the front desk. The first thing the front desk staff did when we explained the situation was to make excuses, saying they were busy because of the holiday and that's why the phone wasn't answered. What kind of logic is that?? Does 'busy' mean you don't have to provide service?? Then they told us that after inserting the card, we needed to pull it out quickly to open the door. Seeing that I was getting visibly frustrated, they finally came up with us to help open the door. I mean, seriously??? If the facilities are so old, why didn't they explain how to use the card when we checked in? How many hotel key cards nowadays require you to insert and then quickly pull out to open, rather than just tapping? After fumbling for more than ten minutes, we finally got into the room. And then it got even worse. The strange odor in the room was even stronger, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. The corners of the bathtub were covered in dust, and you had to stand inside the tub to shower – such an inconvenient design! It was already past 9 PM, and our child was exhausted, so we were too tired to argue and just stayed. The next day, before we left, we informed the floor attendant that the bathroom was very dirty and needed cleaning. However, when we returned that evening, only the bathroom had been superficially tidied; the bedsheets weren't even pulled up. As shown in the picture, the duvet was just piled on the bed. Is this what they call 'cleaning' after we specifically requested it??? If there are many guests during the holiday, they should add more staff. Are guests paying premium prices just to sympathize with the hotel's understaffing issues?? While queuing for breakfast, we even saw other guests arguing because they were unhappy with the restaurant's management, leading to long queues for meals. Where is the service awareness??? If it weren't for the fact that all hotels were fully booked during the National Day holiday and it was difficult to change hotels at the last minute, we truly wouldn't have tolerated staying for two days. The hotel is old and the facilities are outdated; shouldn't they put *more* effort into cleaning and service then?? After we checked out, the customer relations specialist called us back very promptly, but with such a terrible experience, what was actually resolved? Was it just a formality to prevent a bad review?

The room was great, and we even got a free upgrade! We had a partial view of the Tianjin Eye from the side, and a full view of the Grand Bodhi Temple from the front. It was especially beautiful at night when all the lights were on. The kids loved it too. It's also super close to the Tianjin Eye, just a few minutes' walk away.

It's an older hotel, so the facilities are a bit dated, but the location and views are superb. The service is also excellent; they were very responsive to all our requests. My child lost a toy, and when I mentioned it to the front desk staff, they quickly found it in a common area. That was a pleasant surprise!
