Makka Hotel

I booked a night at this hotel after seeing its zen-inspired decor while strolling through the old town. The location is excellent, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area, and the staff are very friendly. The à la carte breakfast was delicious. The rooms are quite small, and the facilities are on par with a budget hotel. The ground floor rooms are a bit damp. The hotel is very small, only two stories high, with most of the rooms on the ground floor.

The hotel's location is superb. We took a taxi from the airport, and since it was Sunday, there was a night market right next to it. The hotel is conveniently tucked away in an alley just around the corner from the weekend night market, offering a quiet escape in a bustling area. There's a 7-Eleven nearby, but it gets really crowded because of the famous temple across the street. The hotel offers an à la carte breakfast. I really enjoyed their beef noodles – they were delicious, and the porridge was great too. Breakfast is served until noon, which is perfect for late risers. The room wasn't very big, and the bathroom felt a bit cramped, but overall, the hotel design is excellent – small but very stylish and well-appointed.

This was a truly delightful experience, and even though I don't easily give full marks, I'm happy to give this five stars. The location is right in the heart of Chiang Mai Old City, offering a peaceful retreat despite being central – no noisy traffic at night. The decor and aesthetics are incredibly sophisticated; it's a renovated old house, but the style is elegant and understated, unlike some of the overly flashy and somewhat gaudy places nearby. The service was excellent; the staff cleaned promptly every day, making it feel like staying at a friend's house. Breakfast is made to order, fresh, delicious, and minimizes waste, with no hygiene concerns. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again! P.S. It's also very kid-friendly! The suites offer fantastic value for money!

The common areas are really well-designed, exuding a sense of Zen everywhere with flowing water, vines, and a unique blend of church-like and Buddhist cultural aesthetics. It's incredibly special and very quiet. Breakfast is à la carte, and the quality of the dishes is good. Both the common areas and the rooms are quite clean. However, the room was very small, and the bedding (mattress and pillows) was just okay. I'd recommend replacing the sheets or re-laundering them more thoroughly.

Location: Tucked away in an alley opposite Wat Chedi Luang, with a 7-Eleven at the corner and a massage parlor next door that, while small, offers excellent techniques. The hotel itself has a very artistic vibe, with wooden furnishings and an antique charm. It's wonderfully quiet at night. The restaurant is on the first floor and doesn't offer a buffet breakfast; instead, guests can choose from several set menus. I highly recommend the beef noodles – they are truly delicious! You can even ask for a second bowl if one isn't enough. The restaurant staff even speak a bit of Chinese. The hotel provides reusable slippers, and guests are asked to change into them before entering the room area to protect the floors. The bathroom comes stocked with toothbrushes, shower caps, cotton swabs, soap, shampoo, and shower gel. You can bring your own toiletries or pick up travel-sized ones from 7-Eleven. Rooms are cleaned daily, and the staff are very friendly. Since I visited during the off-season, there weren't many people, and it offered great value for money. Highly recommend experiencing it~

Service: The staff were very friendly and had a great attitude. After learning we don't eat watermelon, they proactively offered us different fruits for breakfast every day. Cleanliness: The room was very clean. Facilities: The water quality wasn't great; you'll need to bring a filter. The shower water also fluctuated between hot and cold.

A very artistic hotel with a peaceful and therapeutic vibe. I'd definitely go back if I have the chance. It's very close to the old city, and there are good massage places and restaurants nearby to explore. Great value for money.
