Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund

Stepping into the room, I was immediately greeted by the towering 'Huangpu River Four-Piece Set' (referring to the iconic skyscrapers) outside the window. Sitting on the sofa, the Huangpu River unfolded before me like a dynamic scroll painting. The bedding was incredibly soft and delicate; I instinctively wrapped myself tightly in the duvet. The Aesop pine-scented amenities were elegant and long-lasting, perfectly matching the Waldorf's style. The walk-in closet was well-designed and practical. I had bought some 'Ice Beauty,' 'Goddess,' 'Pink Iron Cannon,' and 'Orange Dream' flowers, and was using the room's trash can as a makeshift vase. The thoughtful Nini noticed and kindly replaced it with a beautiful glass vase. 👍 Aaron and Katrina provided meticulous and attentive service. It was a great 4-day experience. I'll definitely be back.

The most delightful stay of our trip! The hotel is very close to the Bund, so we could take leisurely strolls along the river and soak in the Shanghainese charm. The room was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Our dedicated concierges, Echole and Vicky, provided gentle and impeccable service. At night, we could enjoy the dazzling night view of the Bund, taking in all the romance of this magical city. It's truly a rare and wonderful memory of our stay in Shanghai. I particularly loved the century-old elevator – pulling the iron gate felt like traveling through time, very cool! It would be perfect if there was an extra spot in the restroom to place a phone.

After comparing several Bund hotels, the Waldorf Astoria stood out due to its rich history. The personalized concierge service from Caty and Aaron was impeccable. Stepping into the lobby felt like a journey back in time, with its exquisite mosaic floor tiles and vintage chandeliers meticulously maintained. The amenities were comfortably up-to-date, striking a perfect balance between a historical ambiance and modern comfort.

The twin room here is larger than a standard room in most five-star hotels, featuring two double beds, a work area, and a sofa lounge area – a rare find on the Bund. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, so I went downstairs half an hour early to stroll along the Bund in the morning, and breakfast was ready when I got back.

This is an old, luxurious hotel in Shanghai, and the building itself has quite a history. It's right on the Bund, offering fantastic night views. The service isn't overly enthusiastic, but requests are responded to very quickly. For example, Caty and Aaron were super helpful. The Aesop toiletries are a nice touch. Overall, it was a relaxing and elegant stay.
