Hilton Kyoto

The hotel's location is fantastic – super close to both subway and tram stations, all within a 10-minute walk. It's also just a few minutes from the Kamo River, perfect for an after-dinner stroll. There are tons of great restaurants nearby, including some famous 'Hyakumeiten' (top 100) spots. The staff are all able to communicate in English, and the breakfast was quite good too.

Traveling with my parents, I thought having dinner at the hotel would be a convenient option to avoid hassle, but in reality, you absolutely shouldn't book dinner here. There's nothing edible. Seriously, do not book dinner. I booked the Executive Floor and was given an 8th-floor room with a view of a rooftop, no scenery at all. I won't be staying at this hotel again.

The room was a bit small and the soundproofing was terrible; you could hear motorcycles and ambulances all night from the street. The hygiene was good, and the cleaning staff were very thorough. However, the service was quite poor. We had a child, but there were no kids' toothbrushes or slippers, and we had to ask for them. At breakfast on the ground floor, the staff on our last day offered an omelet menu and disposable bibs for children, which we had no idea were available on the first two days. On the other hand, the lounge staff were all excellent and even enthusiastically helped us find out where to buy Hokas.

This is my second stay here, and I'm really impressed with the executive floor benefits I purchased! It's conveniently located, offers good value for money in Kyoto, and I'll definitely be back.

My stay at the Hilton Kyoto was absolutely delightful. The hotel perfectly blends modern comfort with Japanese aesthetics; the design is minimalist yet refined. The room was spacious, well-lit, and impeccably clean, making for an excellent stay. Located in the heart of the city, it's right next to a subway station, and within walking distance of the Shijo shopping district and the dining streets along the Kamo River, offering unparalleled convenience for getting around, sightseeing, and shopping. It offers great value for money and comfort—highly recommended!

The check-out service was excellent, and the surrounding facilities are very comprehensive. You can find shops for most daily necessities within 50 meters. Plus, the hotel breakfast was quite rich.

My main goal for this Kyoto trip was to revisit Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari-taisha, and explore Kibune. So I chose to stay near Kawaramachi, and ended up picking this Hilton. The hotel is right by Shiyakusho-mae Station on the Tozai Line. I'd recommend using the Kawaramachi Plaza exit, as it's the only one with an escalator; if you use Exit 1, you'll have to carry your luggage yourself. Technically, you can't see Honno-ji Temple's graveyard from the hotel, but it is close to the road and can be a bit noisy at night. In the mornings, there are fewer motorcycles, and Sundays are quiet – I even slept through breakfast one day! You can walk to Keihan Sanjo Station, enjoying the Kamo River along the way. If you prefer, it's also just one subway stop. It's not far to walk to Kawaramachi Shijo either, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. This time, I surprisingly opted for a breakfast and dinner package. The variety was better than at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Premier, but they don't change their menus, so eating the same thing for three consecutive days can get a bit monotonous. As for a drawback, I'd suggest the hotel checks the elevator buttons – the static electricity is quite bad; I got shocked almost every time.

This Hilton's facilities are top-notch, absolutely fantastic. The location is also very convenient. The only downside is that the breakfast is pretty mediocre.

I had a surprisingly pleasant stay! The hotel is a comfortable walk from Fushimi Inari Shrine, and you can see the Kamo River on the way to Sanjo subway station. Strolling along the river is lovely. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the hotel facilities are very new. The room was quiet, and I was very satisfied with my stay!
