Not Exactly the Bar Harbor Experience We Expected Perfect stay if you’re worried about running out of gas, have an abundance of trash, and need to do laundry throughout your vacation. The apartment is located directly above a very busy laundromat, in the middle of a gas station parking lot, with a huge, overflowing dumpster that seems to be a favorite gathering spot for the local seagulls. And for you early risers—don’t worry. If the dump truck doesn’t wake you up at 4:00 a.m. before your day of hiking, the seagulls will gladly take over. They provide a very enthusiastic morning soundtrack. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing Bar Harbor getaway, this probably isn’t it. If you enjoy watching gas station traffic, listening to industrial laundry equipment, waking up to garbage trucks and seagulls, and having a dumpster as part of your vacation scenery, then you may have found your perfect spot. Price? Just $400 a night. We definitely would not stay here again.
