Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville

We stayed in room 302. Overall an excellent hotel and staying there was an experience. However, that should be expected for the price. An architectural gem with many whimsical features. Large well appointed rooms. Nice effective really quiet air conditioning. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low. The bathroom design could be improved. The glass door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom blocks one of the sinks when opened and is perhaps unnecessary. One bigger sink would look grander and make the bathroom look less crowded than the current 2 small sinks, but this is of course just a matter of opinion. Whilst not constantly and annoyingly hovering around you like in some luxury hotels the breakfast staff could perhaps be a bit more attentive and offer a refill of coffee now and then. The nighttime turn down service was a bit random- either happening very late or not at all and the chocolate pieces were extremely tiny.

As a family that regularly stays in 4 and 5-star properties, our experience during a 3 night stay at this best of the best hotel in Seville was disappointing and left us feeling Hotel Alfonso XIII did not live up to the expectations as a top-tier, luxury hotel. The attitude of the on-duty staff that serviced us to deal with mistake made in their reservation system during check-in and other issues during our stay was snobby, and un-apologetic. It made the experience of our stay there unwelcoming and disappointing.

The hotel is so beautifully decorated and the breakfast was good

The best hotel in Andalusia. Perfect environment and service. The breakfast place in the patio is perfect. A great variety of food choices. Those who staying there are very elegant. We had our breakfast and dinner inside the hotel. It would be good if we have a room facing the Alcazar or the patio. Ours faced the swimming pool which is still not bad.

Worst hotel stay ever and I’ve stayed in lots of hotels. This was the hotel that I was most looking forward to staying at, as well as being one of the most expensive, on our grand Spain tour but it ended up being such a let down in every possible way. The public areas are really beautiful and historical but the rooms are a disaster, all the facilities are just simply way too outdated for this age and time without significant updates. The bathroom leaks water and the tiles are not slip resistant and my friend slipped and fell. The furniture is shabby and tattered. When we first checked in to the room the rubbish from the previous guests was still in the waste bin which really is disgusting. Pillows are cheap and floppy. My honest advice is to visit the hotel for the architectural beauty and find another hotel for accommodation.
