We stayed at Hotel Ocean Grand and had a very pleasant experience. One of the biggest advantages is the hotel’s own airport transfer — a minibus transfer to and from the airport was arranged for us, which was extremely convenient and made everything very easy.
The hotel is located in Hulhumalé, very close to the airport, so seaplanes can be heard during the day. However, they do not operate at night, so this was not an issue for us.
Our room was clean, comfortable and a good size, with everything we needed, including a refrigerator and a well-equipped bathroom with toiletries. We were also lucky to get a room with an ocean view, which was a lovely bonus considering how densely built-up Hulhumalé is.
The hotel is right on the beachfront, with cafés, shops and other amenities within walking distance. Breakfast was very good, with both European and local options, and is served on the top floor with a covered terrace overlooking the ocean.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and even helped us when we had an issue with paying the local fee.
Overall, a very comfortable and convenient hotel with great service, a good location and an excellent airport transfer. We would happily stay here again.
