I chose this hotel over a cheaper option because of the advertised amenities, river view, and noon checkout—but overall, it felt overpriced for the experience.
I prepaid for breakfast through ******* but was double charged, and the “complimentary” breakfast offered to make up for issues ended up being confusing and incomplete. The TV in my room didn’t work initially, the hot tub wasn’t hot, and we had to replace our key cards multiple times.
The biggest frustration was the checkout time. It was advertised as noon, but I had to debate this with staff. I was also given a card offering accommodations, yet when I asked for a slightly later checkout and a ride to the train station, I had to go back to my room to prove it. Seems like this was the managers instruction, since the lobby attendant kept going to the back room to talk to them. Never did the manager ever come out and speak to me directly though.
As someone in hospitality, I stayed patient and respectful, but it felt like I had to advocate for basic services throughout my stay. Overall, not worth the price.
I will say one staff member who helped fix the TV and initially offered accommodations was great. Also all the front desk staff were very kind and communicative about the systems they were using being new.
