Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá

The service was impeccable and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, from the Prosecco and cake and handwritten note for our 30th Wedding Anniversary, to the attentiveness at breakfast and the immaculate room cleanliness. Breakfast was an incredible spread; cocktails in the bar delicious. Many reviews have said it is the staff and location that makes this hotel 5*. I would agree. My only gripe is that on checking out a ‘discretionary’ €50 was added to our bill (on top of the usual €80 city tax we expected to pay). We like to tip as we go along.

Lovely hotel located in a villa near the Vatican. Top service, facilities and food. We had an amazing honeymoon. Totally recommended!

This is a beautiful hotel and a ideal place to stay in Rome. It is in a perfect location for all of the major attractions and if you go in the cooler seasons you can easily walk everywhere. However, if you go in the warmer weather the pool area is lovely and getting a taxi is easy. The staff are wonderful and attentive, the rooms and property are clean and well cared for.

I was a bit disappointed in my overall experience at this property. Although everything was fine, I just feel it wasn’t The Leading Hotel of the world experience I was expecting. I will mention my husband and I travelled without children and this property has tons of families with small children. I will also mention the location is a bit of a walk to the main centre, about 20 mins. Which is fine, but can be challenging in the Rome heat. Overall I would rate this hotel as 3/5. The service was quite good.
