Shamian Hotel

The cleaning was good, but the hotel itself might be old and outdated, and the disinfection wasn't thorough enough, as there were fleas.

The room was quite damp and had a slight musty smell. The heating didn't work, and the duvet was very thin, so it was too cold to sleep at night. I wouldn't choose this place again unless absolutely necessary in winter. The location is excellent, right opposite the White Swan Hotel.

Nice environment and excellent location. I'd definitely choose to stay here again. There are many small restaurants around, and a convenience store downstairs, making everything super convenient. Thumbs up! 👍

The hotel is too old and hasn't been updated. The facilities are really poor. There's no hot air conditioning, just a thin duvet. They couldn't provide an electric heater, only offered a blanket, and it was still cold at night. The bathroom was also subpar. The only good thing about this place is its location on Shamian Island.

The location is quite good, making it easy to walk to Shamian Island and enjoy the Pearl River night view. 👍🏻 However, the facilities are a bit old and dated.

This hotel suffers from the typical ailments of state-owned enterprises: a prime location coupled with absolutely no effort in management or operation. The room facilities are outdated (the mattress was so saggy it felt like a plank, the shower head sprayed water everywhere, and the room was dimly lit with two spotlights not working). In December, there were still many mosquitoes indoors. Breakfast was so simple it was practically nonexistent, honestly, it would have been better without it. The service was indifferent, giving off a 'no one's forcing you to stay here, and it won't affect my paycheck if you don't' vibe. There was no heating (we happened to arrive during a cold spell, and the room temperature at night was only 7 degrees Celsius); all they could offer was an extra blanket. There was also a machine on the roof running 24/7, making a lot of noise. The old sliding windows couldn't be closed properly, so they offered no sound insulation whatsoever!
