The room was quite spacious and clean, with a window offering a river view. The hotel has a Peranakan style, and the à la carte breakfast, especially the Malacca curry noodles, had perfectly balanced spice flavors. It's within walking distance of Jonker Street, but we took a taxi because of the hot weather.

The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast selection is good for a weekday. The only downside is the drainage of the toilet. The door of the shower room is not tightly sealed, water would flow out and wet the toilet. But would definitely visit again.

We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. We had dropped the hotel a note in advance, and they kindly prepared something small for us, which we genuinely appreciated. However, considering that we paid close to RM1,400 for 2 nights, the overall experience was quite disappointing and, unfortunately, did not feel worth the price. I would definitely think twice about returning, or even not. 1. Complimentary breakfast & hygiene We did not have particularly high expectations for the complimentary breakfast after reading some of the reviews, and unfortunately, the reviews were quite accurate. The food was disappointing in terms of taste, the tables were not properly clean, and there were literally ants surrounding our table area. This was particularly unpleasant and unhygienic, and it affected our appetite even further when the food itself was already underwhelming. Cleanliness should be a bare minimum. 2. Check-in experience We arrived around 8pm due to a massive traffic jam during our journey. We understand that our late arrival was beyond the hotel’s control, but there were no welcome drinks offered during check-in. While this may seem like a small matter, it was not quite the welcoming experience I expected from The Majestic. 3. Poor soundproofing The soundproofing of the room was probably one of the biggest disappointments. We could clearly hear music coming from a room around the corner, as well as noise from the road, corridor, and upstairs. It was difficult to get the peaceful and restful environment we expected from a hotel stay, especially when the purpose of our trip was to take a break and recharge. Being unable to comfortably sleep because of the surrounding noise was definitely not ideal. For a hotel stay where guests expect to rest and unwind, I believe this is something that should be looked into seriously. 4. Room hygiene The room hygiene also needs improvement, particularly the bathtub. There were visible stains in the bathtub that could not be removed. This was quite disappointing because having a relaxing bath after a long journey was actually one of the things we were looking forward to during our stay. Unfortunately, the condition of the bathtub made us lose the urge to use it altogether. 5. Poor-quality in-room amenities The quality of the in-room amenities provided was also disappointing. I expected the basic amenities and facilities to be of a much better standard. The coffee machine was barely functioning and made a loud and unusual noise when in use. The Android TV was also disappointing. It was not particularly “smart”, as we could not even connect it to Wi-Fi to use basic services such as YouTube. Overall, the quality of the amenities did not match the price point or the experience we expected On the positive side, We were given a 1-hour late check-out, which we appreciated. The gentleman at the front desk was also welcoming and polite, which made our interaction pleasant. The lady on the night shift, however, seemed to have a slight language barrier and had some difficulty understanding our questions, although she was still polite. Yet, the overall experience did not justify the price and the overall stay is hugely disappointing.

A standout luxury stay in Melaka that executes hospitality flawlessly. The hyper-vigilant housekeeping ensures your room feels perpetually refreshed without ever feeling intrusive. Paired with culturally rich touches and an unbeatable central location, it sets a high benchmark for regional boutique hotels. Ideal for travelers seeking elevated hospitality, cultural charm, and total convenience in the heart of Melaka. Cleanliness: Unmatched frequency; rooms reset every time you step out, including evening turn-down. Location: Central Melaka Town; top sights, UNESCO heritage zones, and dining within reach. Service: Attentive, refined service standard with classy staff wearing traditional Peranakan attire. Amenities: Generous in-room provisions well above standard hotel offerings.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in the best way possible! Being right on the Malacca River, Malacca quickly became my favorite stop on this Malaysia-Singapore trip, and my stay at The Majestic Malacca definitely played a huge part in that. You can see the hotel's facilities in the pictures, so I'll focus on the experience. As soon as we entered, a staff member took our luggage. While waiting for our room key, we were offered tea and adorable little cookies. The front desk staff even escorted us to the elevator, and our luggage was delivered directly to our room. The hotel breakfast is à la carte, freshly prepared, not a buffet, which made it feel like a five-star dining experience. The service was incredibly attentive; they always thoughtfully asked if we needed anything else and offered suggestions. One young man, in particular, was very sharp; he suggested I try mixing orange juice and guava juice half and half, and it was a truly unique and delicious flavor! It's a shame we didn't bring our phones to breakfast, so we couldn't take any pictures. Next time, I definitely want to try the hotel's dinner; I heard the chef is quite renowned. All in all, I absolutely loved Malacca, and I'll be staying at The Majestic again next time.

I really loved the vibe of The Malacca Hotel. The à la carte breakfast had a good mix of Western and local options, and all the staff were very attentive. Plus, there's free parking, and it's just a few minutes' walk to all the major attractions. The night market nearby is lively in the evenings. Definitely recommend!

Excellent! Before my trip, I was a bit apprehensive about staying in a hotel converted from an old house, but after arriving, I found it to be very well-maintained, clean, and dry. The beds were comfortable, and even the butter at breakfast was handmade. There's a small but charming swimming pool, and the gym is also quite compact. The only slight inconvenience is the lack of laundry service; you have to go to a self-service laundromat nearby. However, these minor drawbacks don't detract from the overall experience. I'd still be willing to go back again.

A hotel with a strong Nanyang style, right by the Malacca River. The room has a rich retro feel, and you can see the Malacca River just by drawing the curtains. Breakfast is à la carte, very exquisite and delicious! If you're not in a hurry, you could stay another night to fully enjoy it and take some photos. The only slight downside was that the water from the bathtub came out yellowish.
