Von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort

The breakfast was excellent! We especially enjoyed the Birche Muesli. The choices were varied and delicious. We enjoyed the clean room and bathroom was roomy and very clean. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the indoor pool! It was a rainy cool weekend but we enjoyed our short walk to see the cows and the newborn calves! We enjoyed our short stay but hope to be back this summer.

The hills are…gorgeous! Beautiful country setting, excellent staff, delicious food, impressive brewery and cute cows! What more could you want? As a fan in the VonTrapp story we LOVED the history tour and enjoyed meeting a granddaughter-who now keeps things running. Wonderful stay!

The rooms were huge, but there were no products stocked and we had to call and ask for shampoo/soaps upon arrival. I love the robes that are put in the room. Other downside is that the wifi didn’t work in the rooms. Only upset was that the lodge staff and the cafe staff were not friendly at all. The girls that were working the desk at check in were incredibly rude. They would rather be on their phones or talk about how they weren’t paid enough/something regarding pay. Nobody ever acknowledged us when we walked in or needed anything…. incredibly upsetting as we were so excited to celebrate our honeymoon here. Not worth the price point even if you get a good deal on *******. Really hoped for a great weekend.

We were really disappointed with our stay at Von Trapp. While the grounds were pretty, we were primarily there to ski. Unfortunately the ski shuttle was not available when we were there, even though this is part of the resort fee you have no choice but to pay. Our room also was in a wifi dead zone so we could not stream any TV at night which is what we look forward to after a long ski day. When we complained about this and other things, the staff responded with indifference and "we'll try to get someone there". It was unusual given we were paying $600/night. The interior shows a lot of wear and tear and is in need of an update to justify the prices. We won't be returning.

It is a unique place with a lot of history behind it. It has a European feel, great food, things to do, and a caring staff and management since it remains family owned and operated business. Everywhere fresh flowers, mostly from the resort's own greenhouse, wonderful atmosphere, great views, and an upscale spa, sauna, and outdoor and indoor pools.

The check-in staff was mediocre. No smiles were had. There was no one to open the door for you as you were dragging in a lot of luggage.

Wonderful experience for our family! Lovely hiking , delicious dinner and close to great skiing at Stowe!

Very comfortable and convivial place to spend a winter weekend. The staff was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the (below zero degrees) sleigh ride!
