We stayed at Turtle in late February/early March and had a completely negative experience. Reading the reviews, it feels like we've stayed at another guesthouse. We had problems right from the start with the excursions. Turtle's prices are the highest on the island, and talking to them didn't solve anything. We tried other guesthouses with much more reasonable prices, but we needed approval from ours, which they wouldn't grant. Once we requested the whale shark and manta ray excursion (which left us with no choice but to not do it), we were told it would be organized the following morning. Having requested confirmation the night before, we were instead told by another person that it was too late to organize it because it had to be done sooner. Since it wasn't our fault, this person stayed until 11:30 PM trying to find us a speedboat for the following day. During the excursion, which we ultimately paid €230 per person, we were told that there were no manta rays and that we could go looking for turtles (they didn't even take us to the area where they usually go to look for manta rays; it's obvious they hadn't returned on time for the excursion and had to make us go back). Terrible organization: for our return, the speedboat was supposed to take us to Malé airport (which we were told several times, even just before boarding the boat), but our guesthouse only told them "Malé," so we ended up somewhere completely different, and this was also reported to us by the person driving and managing the speedboat. The chef and waiter, unlike our contact, were very kind. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and the food is good. I recommend not getting the full package with the buffet because it's really poor, unlike the à la carte option, where there's much more choice.
