The hotel's strong points are the breakfast and the beach!
+ The breakfasts are great and varied, with two coffee machines and plenty of different dishes. Vegetarians will always find options and vegetables.
+ The beach in front of the hotel is now superb. It's cleaned regularly; before, this part of the beach wasn't great, but now it's amazing – turquoise, clear water, and a gentle entry. Keep in mind that the sun on Chaweng Noi sets by 5 PM.
+ The two dogs on the beach are very kind, affectionate, and cute. I miss them dearly!
+ The massage on the beach at the hotel is truly excellent, especially with the two older ladies – it's the best. There was no point in going elsewhere to try; the massage here is very good for a great price.
+ I really liked the parking attendant who helps you get onto the main road; he's very friendly and does a great job.
- I didn't like the check-in process. I arrived at the hotel at 2 PM, and they said check-in was from 3 PM (the information at the front desk stated check-in from 2 PM, and the rooms are tiny, so I guess they lack cleaning staff). They offered for me to wait by the pool, which led to a fuss over towels. Then I went back at 4 PM for check-in, and everything was still ambiguous. They first offered a worse room, which I've never experienced before, especially since it was my first time staying there. After I declined, a better one was offered. It all felt rather unwelcoming.
- The Wi-Fi throughout the entire property is terrible; you have to chase after it. In other hotels, Wi-Fi works even if you're 50 meters away, not just if you're standing right in front of it on the beach or in the hotel's gym.
- The gym is just awful; nothing has been updated since it was built. There's a broken seat on a bench that's just placed on top, dumbbells are in terrible condition, a broken treadmill that wasn't fixed in 7 days (and who knows how long it's been like that), and a smelly air conditioner that's dangerous to breathe. I've never seen anything like it; it directly shows their attitude towards guests, as does the broken shower on the beach, which also wasn't fixed in 7 days.
The hotel is decent. For the price it used to be (4-5 thousand), it was excellent, but at twice that price, it definitely doesn't live up to it. The room is small and ordinary, but the size and photos were accurately displayed on the aggregator, so I have no complaints there. Everything is, of course, old and worn, not for the squeamish or those who prefer sparkling clean fixtures.
I would visit the hotel again if it were at a lower price.
I wish them luck in dealing with all the shortcomings and hope for their continued prosperity!
