It's beautiful and spacious, right within the ancient city walls. We felt completely at ease letting our kids run around in the courtyard. The breakfast was also quite substantial. There's really no need to venture out to any commercial streets, as the city wall is right outside the entrance. It was very pleasant to just stroll around at our own pace.

Our stay was a total nightmare, I have to complain! The in-room phone didn't work, so we couldn't call room service at all. The promised butler service was non-existent; we couldn't reach them throughout our entire stay and received no butler service whatsoever. For every little thing, we had to trek down to the front desk ourselves. The room was infested with mosquitoes; they were flying everywhere, and we were bitten so badly at night that we couldn't sleep. The pest control was completely inadequate. The lack of service combined with subpar hygiene made for an absolutely terrible stay. I strongly demand that the hotel rectify these issues and take appropriate action.

Pros: -Very friendly staff and efficient service all around -Lots of complimentary activities throughout the day (The evening tour of Qingyan was definitely a highlight of my trip) -The exteriors of the hotels from the walls to the courtyards are all very picturesque -The lobby offers tea and some small local snacks -Clean room with lots of amenities - the robes were very soft Cons: -Terrible soundproofing: I could hear my neighbours slam their doors starting around 6AM in the morning. -Some small repairs are needed: the peephole cover was loose (I used tissue paper to cover the hole throughout the night, and the shower button was a bit loose so it was hard to adjust to the shower head that I wanted to use)

The service was excellent, and the location was great too. The staff were really welcoming. Even though we were the only family signed up for the parent-child activities, they didn't cancel them, which was fantastic. The night tour was also very interesting. Compared to before, there's no KTV or spa, and they no longer offer lunch and dinner. However, many hotel activities are gradually resuming, and they've added quite a few intangible cultural heritage experiences, meaning there are activities scheduled throughout the day. The off-season price now, compared to the peak season, is truly a bargain – excellent value for money!
