Dining Experience: Multiple guests commended the on-site dining, particularly at Wyld, where food quality and service received high praise. The après-ski atmosphere and live music in the Great Room added to the overall experience.

This is the best ski hotel we have ever stayed at. Was here for 9 nights over presidents week. The lift is right out the back door. Every restaurant had the best food. We ended up eating at the hotel most nights because we couldn't get enough of it. The vibe is mountain cozy yet very luxurious. All of the staff was super helpful. Housekeeping was on point. The bars outside and music were a perfect end to the day Would 100 percent recommend. It is a magical place.

ame here for lunch. Bought meals plus alcohol, but apparently they won’t let you use the bathroom because the hotel is block out by a certain party. Then don’t have people eat at your restaurants but don’t open the restaurant’s bathroom to patrons.

Driving up to the property is magical and the valet/bellman were very welcoming. It went downhill from there though (with a couple exceptions). Front desk check-in experience lacked a warm welcome and felt about as special as checking in via an app or kiosk. The room itself very average - nothing memorable. Service overall was pretty atrocious. Attempts to dial to make restaurant reservations and request amenities for the room were met with unanswered phone lines. The hot tub wasn't working, which was a huge disappointment for my family. The hostesses and waitresses at the restaurants were friendly but seemed completely overwhelmed. We ate at both WYLD and Buffalos and service was painfully slow at both - at Buffalos we sat for about 45 minutes before being able to place an order (and the restaurant wasn't even full - probably just understaffed). I will say the food was excellent though at both restaurants - the chicken schnitzel at WYLD was perfection. Room service for breakfast was a let down though - overly salted eggs and potatoes. Overall, the hotel was not the special experience for my family that I was hoping it would be to kick off our ski trip in Avon.

This hotel has legionaries disease and they didn’t tell us on check in. They haven’t closed the pool or steam room which my teenage children went in. I was walking around the spa steam room and hot tub. Gross negligence on behalf of the Ritz for not telling its customers and prioritizing money over health.

Summary: This is a dressed up budget hotel. Yes it’s that bad. This was pretty obviously a place for one of two people: people who want to seem high end but don’t actually know what a “nice” hotel is or “one and dones”. You will never convince me someone who actually has a clue would stay here twice. The bad: 1. None of the hot tubs were on. The spa was shut down the entire week we were there. When we asked what options we had we were told “you can swim in the pool”. I can’t explain how cold the pool is in the winter - no one was in it the whole week we were there. I get stuff happens, at least offer something to remedy the fact that a ski hotel doesn’t have a functioning hot tub or spa the week you are staying there. 2. Restaurants are very sub par. There’s a reason why no one who knows anything about BC recommends them. 3. Ski valets routinely mixed up our boots, couldn’t find our boots, couldn’t find our skis, etc… 4. There was a wedding Saturday night. The music in our room was so loud it shook the walls and was rattling the pictures on the wall. I could sing the lyrics to the songs through my noise cancelling headphones it was that loud. We aren’t 21 and in college anymore so we kind of didn’t like this. Originally we were told the wedding was going until 10 pm so we just rolled with it. Then at 1115 when the wall rattling and in room karaoke continued we called asking for a different room and were told something to the effect of “that’s going to be tough at this time of night”. Just unbelievably poor and misleading service. I can only imagine what a Four Seasons (or similar legitimate hotel) response would have been, certainly not that. 5. The fire alarms or some sort of security alarm went off throughout the hotel twice. Once on Friday night around 9 and once on Saturday night at midnight (about 30 minutes after the wall shaking wedding ended). Both were false alarms I guess - either that or someone was starting a fire in the hotel. The second night we just ignored it and decided to take our chances which was super reassuring. Again, back to whole budget hotel thing. The good: The valets were spot on. The bartenders were friendly and fun, service was not the quickest. The waiters tried. At the end of the day this is not a 5 star hotel. We were told that by 3 other couples who had stayed in BC but for some reason didn’t listen which is on us. It’s laughably bad, it is actually a running joke amongst our family how bad it was. Stay at any of the other high end options in town or just do a VRBO - you will be so much happier and save some money.

I was very disappointed with my recent stay. Several issues made the experience unacceptable for a hotel at this price point: • Bathrobes were severely pilling and had makeup stains, suggesting they were not properly laundered between guests. • A large coffee stain on the carpet directly outside the room was present when we arrived and was never addressed throughout the stay. • I found hair from previous guests on two towels in the bathroom. • Dirty room service food sat in the hallway all day, creating an unpleasant environment. • Property feels incredibly tired/worn, dark and dingy. Elevators open and close comically slow. • Staff were inattentive, often confused, and seemed poorly trained I also reached out to the manager, Dan Dickhart, via email regarding these concerns but did not receive any response. Overall, this stay fell far below minimal acceptable standards. I hope the hotel addresses these cleanliness, training, and maintenance issues to improve the guest experience.

Would not return.you are land locked here with nothing to do when the runs are not open. Went to the spa and at checkout the girl behind the desk (without my asking) told me “we suggest 22 percent gratuity.” Gratuity is the customers choice and based upon the experience—it should not he dictated. I didnt ask what she thought I should tip. Is presumptuous and tacky. Prices for food and drink are not commensurate with quality. My travel partner said they added on a tip without her asking at the Spa checkout and she was informed when she said she was going to run upstairs to get cash to tip. Theres an additional $60.00. “Resort” fee per day plus an additional “civic assessment” fee of 50.00 per day (whatever that is) in addition to your room rate—what is an additional $100+ a day for when there are no activities except a morning hike? Also, you have to cancel 30 DAYS in advance..where does it say that when you book? Nowhere. Went nov 29-dec 3rd.i chose to stay at the sonnenalp for 2 of the 4 nights even though i paid for 4 at the ritz.the sonnenalp was a much better 5 star experience with excellent food and non-insulting prices on food and drink. So many other better high end choices!

I had such a great time here. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and felt really inviting after a day of exploring. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The whole property has a beautiful mountain vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a mix of comfort and luxury in a gorgeous setting.
