Even during the off-season with limited surrounding options, I found upon check-in that it absolutely sets the standard for quality in the area. The owner's dedication is evident in every detail, from the lakeside afternoon tea to the panoramic king-size rooms, all conveying a sense of ease, like 'making your home amidst the mountains and waters.' However, as a guest who seeks perfection, I also want to frankly share some suggestions for improvement, hoping to help this hidden gem of a guesthouse reach new heights: **Highlight Experiences** * **View and Space:** The 90° panoramic lake view rooms live up to their reputation! The 50㎡ space is airy and grand, with a 2-meter king bed and floor-to-ceiling lake-view windows. Being woken by the sunlight and lake ripples in the morning is an unparalleled experience. * **Warm Service:** The butler was attentive throughout, from transfers to travel recommendations, showing great care and enthusiasm. Requests were accommodated wherever possible. **Details for Improvement** 1. **Safety and Flow:** The bathroom area and bathtub in the room are elevated, creating a two-step drop that's easy to trip over at night (especially for those on their phones). I suggest adding non-slip strips or sensor lights. After all, if an accident occurs and a guest seeks recourse, it's the guesthouse owner who suffers. 2. **Space Planning:** While the open-plan bathroom offers a sense of spaciousness, self-built pipes inevitably have odors (my sensitive nose detected a slight backflow). I recommend enhancing ventilation or installing a physical partition. 3. **Lighting Design:** The bedside lamp has a single brightness, making it inconvenient to find the switch at night. Adding a sensor night light or dimmable mode would be more user-friendly. 4. **Dining Upgrade:** The surrounding food street has highly similar offerings. Accidentally booked into an influencer B&B, apparently, celebrities have stayed here. The ambiance is quite chill, but while it's beautiful, there are too many issues. If only they'd put some of that effort into creating atmosphere into hygiene and facilities instead. The soundproofing is poor; I could clearly hear cars outside, distant chickens crowing, and chairs being dragged upstairs. The showerhead was dirty, covered in white residue. The staff member said it was due to poor water quality from ongoing renovations next door. The overhead shower was broken and sprayed water everywhere. The staff member came to replace it in the middle of the night. The chair was dirty, with leftover food scraps from the previous guest. The staff member explained that housekeeping is outsourced, so there's nothing they can do. But couldn't they at least inspect it? The slippers smelled bad, and they didn't even have the hotel's name on them. The staff member said they were disposable and couldn't be helped. The breakfast was exquisite but not filling. They claim to offer bicycles, but they were all broken... Hao Kun Lake isn't well-developed yet, and there aren't many proper hotels. What to do...

This guesthouse, nestled in the mountains, is not only clean and tidy but also very tasteful! The location is excellent, right by Haokun Lake, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions. The service is exceptional; they arranged an afternoon tea, and even delivered tremella soup to our room in the evening, which was incredibly heartwarming. 🥰

The hotel is located in Haokun Village. After exiting the highway, it's a ten-minute drive along a mountain road, including two steep downhill sections with sharp turns, which can be dangerous at night. There's an entrance fee to the village, but hotel guests are exempt from the entrance fee. After crossing a distinctive covered bridge, you'll see the hotel at the end of the lake. This hotel is arguably the best in Haokun Lake in terms of appearance, size, and facilities. Our room was spacious, with a nice view of the lake from the window. The only drawbacks were the steps around the sink and bathtub, and the slightly sunken bathroom floor. Although the hotel had marked the steps, it was still easy to slip and fall. The showerhead had a strong water pressure and was easy to use; the hairdryer and other amenities were good. The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive. Since there's no elevator, they carried our luggage up and down the stairs; any amenities we needed were promptly delivered to our room. Their service was commendable! When we visited, the hotel restaurant was under renovation, so only a simple breakfast was available. Dinner had to be found outside; there were several restaurants near the covered bridge, and the food was decent. Haokun Lake has beautiful scenery and clear, emerald-green water, but it is smaller than Quyang Lake. In winter, the water volume is not abundant enough, so the scenery is not as good as in summer.

The environment is beautiful and uniquely situated, right next to the Haokun Lake Covered Bridge. The service is incredibly warm and hospitable, especially the service manager who helped us plan our itinerary and even brought us a bedtime dessert. Bicycles and paddleboards are free.
