W Shanghai - The Bund

Service: The best hotel I've ever stayed at! No exaggeration. I've tried many hotels in Shanghai, including Shangri-La (Jingan, Pudong), Ritz-Carlton (Pudong), Peninsula (Bund), Shanghai Tower J-Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, Disney hotels, Westin, Kerry Centre, Sheraton... Apart from Banyan Tree, which I'm not interested in, and St. Regis, which I tried in Sanya, and Waldorf Astoria, which I haven't had the chance to visit yet, I've checked out almost all the hotels my child and I were interested in. Honestly, W truly impressed me. From purchasing the package and booking the dates in advance to phone communication, the staff consistently displayed genuine warmth and professionalism. They meticulously noted all my requests, ensuring accurate internal communication. On the day of arrival, I wasn't feeling well and my tone wasn't great. Yet, the front desk staff listened attentively and with incredible patience throughout. This level of internal training deeply impressed me. There was none of the arrogance I've experienced at the Peninsula or Ritz-Carlton; instead, it was full of understanding for the customer. I actually want to come back and stay again soon! 😂 I even joked with the hotel staff, asking if this excellent service was because I booked a suite. 😝 But then again, I had suites at Shanghai Tower J-Hotel and Ritz-Carlton too, and the service there was... well, let's just say it was different. At the W, it's not just the front desk and lobby; even the staff helping with the elevator and the cleaning crew in the basement are incredibly cheerful and sincere. I love this fresh, uplifting energy and team. Facilities: The facilities are clean and hygienic, and every room has a bidet toilet seat, which is a nice touch! Environment: Very clean, and most importantly, the view across the river is absolutely stunning. Hygene: The hygiene is excellent, very clean. And their response time is super fast. If I had to pick one downside, it would be that the配套 facilities at Magnolia Plaza are a bit too low-end, haha. They really don't match the W's standard.

The kids absolutely loved this hotel! The night view was stunning, and the pool was clean and comfortable. We'll definitely choose to stay here again next time we're in Shanghai.

Staying at a hotel that costs nearly 3000 RMB per night, yet they demand a 1500 RMB mini-bar deposit upon check-in – what era are we living in? Do you really think someone paying 3000 RMB to stay at your hotel is going to steal a few drinks? This is a blatant disregard and challenge to high-end customers. We absolutely won't tolerate it. This kind of service philosophy is a definite no-go for us; we won't be returning. Just look at comparable hotels like the Bvlgari and Regent. Especially at the Bvlgari, guests literally pack two big bags of drinks from the mini-bar at check-out, and they still haven't finished it all. At the Regent, the mini-bar is complimentary for guests, and they even offer beautiful small cakes and fruits as part of an afternoon tea. If your philosophy were applied there, wouldn't you need to collect a 3,000 to 4,000 RMB deposit? Who was the ******* person who came up with such a low-class restriction? Are you so afraid of being poor that you treat every guest as if they'll skip out on the bill after drinking two sodas? Although hotel staff did come by in the evening at the bar to ask for feedback on service, it was merely for recording purposes, a pure formality. There was no follow-up or resolution to any of the feedback. Such a significant flaw should warrant the demotion or termination of the management who initially implemented this deposit policy. Compared to the Regent Hotel, where almost every room offers a direct river view, the room we paid nearly 3000 RMB for here only offered views of mostly demolished urban buildings next door, with only about a third of the view showing the river. The value for money is simply not good. You only get to see the full river view when having breakfast or afternoon tea.

The breakfast is excellent, I look forward to it every time I visit. The service is also great; they even gave me a small cake and a handwritten card for my birthday, which was a very thoughtful touch. Having such a wonderful experience during Chinese New Year is truly fantastic. Thumbs up!

I checked into your hotel smoothly on February 15th at 3 PM. As soon as I arrived at the front desk, a friendly staff member warmly greeted me, processing my check-in with a gentle and humble demeanor. This immediately made me feel at home. They also provided many thoughtful suggestions based on my needs and offered efficient help and solutions, which I really appreciated. 👍 During my stay, as I had a bit of a cold and cough recently, the hotel proactively and thoughtfully asked if I needed ginger tea. Soon after, a steaming hot ginger tea was brought to my room, along with a reminder to rest. The ginger tea was just the right temperature; it warmed me from the inside out and eased my discomfort. The hotel's overall environment is superb, with a fantastic design. The Bund river view from the window is captivating, especially at night. My room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to rest peacefully even when I was feeling unwell. This experience not only helped me recuperate physically but also lifted my spirits, leaving me completely worry-free. I'd like to thank all the staff at W Hotel. Your professionalism and service attitude truly embody the high-quality customer care at W Shanghai - The Bund. I'm fortunate to be local and will definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

I booked the Executive City View Room and the view was indeed fantastic. Breakfast was delivered to my room, and right downstairs is the White Magnolia Plaza for shopping. Overall, I'm satisfied.
