Camia Resort & Spa

Before my trip, I practically scoured all the hotels in Phu Quoc and eventually chose Camia Resort as our first hotel on the island. Luckily, my personal experience didn't disappoint. I emailed in advance to book the free airport pickup, and it was about a 30-minute ride from the airport to the hotel. Overall, it's a small but beautiful resort, with a dozen or so bungalows nestled among lush greenery, instantly putting you in vacation mode. The hotel has two pools: a freshwater pool next to the breakfast restaurant, and a saltwater infinity pool by the sea. The poolside area by the sea also has a shallow pool specifically for kids, which our two children absolutely loved splashing around in. You can also enjoy complimentary double kayaking by the sea.

I booked for three nights but checked out after just one. As someone who travels frequently and has stayed in both budget and luxury accommodations, I rarely encounter places that don't live up to their hype. Why did I book three nights? Like many others, I was swayed by its ambiance and its supposed top-tier ranking. For those familiar with Bali, the rooms are really subpar. The air conditioning is old-fashioned; even set to 18 degrees, it still felt stuffy, which is a major flaw in an island resort. The fan provided by the hotel actually fit the environment perfectly, making me feel like I was back in my childhood village. Secondly, both hotel pools close at 7 PM, preventing entry. It's baffling that they close so early when the days are hot and the evenings are just starting to be comfortable, a stark contrast to the hotels I stayed at the previous two nights. Finally, housekeeping starts knocking on your door at 9 AM asking if you need service. If you plan to sleep in, definitely don't book here; they will keep knocking until you respond. The hotel's sunset restaurant is undeniably good, but staying here is not worth it.

The room is spacious, and the balcony is huge. The hotel surroundings are beautiful, offering stunning sunset views. There's a private beach (a bit small, but perfect for photos). The only downside is the hotel's somewhat remote location. However, if you rent a motorbike, it's manageable; it's a 20-minute ride to Phu Quoc Night Market and a 5-minute ride to the small town below the hotel. Overall, it's quite good.

Had a fantastic experience! The hotel's sunset views were absolutely stunning, and the infinity pool was perfect for getting some amazing photos. Just a heads-up, though: there were some small critters on the balcony at night, so if that bothers you, ladies, you might want to take note.

The hotel's facilities are a bit basic and dated, but the beachfront restaurant is fantastic. The food is really good, and you'll need to book in advance for a table right by the sea. It's perfect for a romantic dinner.

Booked two rooms, and my parents really loved it here. It's very quiet, perfect for relaxing. The shower water in the bathroom was hot, and there's a bathtub. The hotel provides life jackets, swim rings, and you can even go boating. Even if you don't go out, you won't get bored just staying at the hotel. The breakfast menu changes daily and it's delicious.
