The Level at Melia Alicante

I booked well in advance of my stay. The hotel then undertook some major renovation work that was not publicised at the time of my booking. I found out by accident a week before I was due to go. I contacted ******* who contacted the hotel. They just said tough you didn't book a refunable rate. When you book something that includes exclusive areas if you can't offer them, for whaterver reason, you need to inform your guests and give them options. This was such poor customer service. As for the hotel itself there is major renovation going on. The staff were very good. It appeared there were only two elevators for the whole hotel there were long waits for these. I'm not sure the room I had would actually be part of the level if it was where is the seperation of the rooms in the hotel ? The exclusive level pool is currently a building site. The lounge is moved to a room downstairs nothing like the promised lounge. Although I thought the staff in there were excellent. Overall I definately wouldn't go to the level during the work and won't return to the hotel due to the total lack of information about the renovation prior and major lack of customer care.

Nice hotel ia a fabulous location. We booked a premium roon ans it was modern, clean with a coffee machine and fridge. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. The complimentary drinks and snacks were much appreciated. The hotel was getting renovated when we were there but this didn't impact our stay.

Well worth the extra money. Attentive staff, beautiful rooms and excellent food. Great views and amenities! The breakfast was excellent and evening drinks at the level lounge was a wonderful perk. David from the Rock.🇨🇦🇨🇦 ( ******* Platinum )

Perfect escape to relax. Visited off-season in Nov and found it very calm and relaxing. Rooms are lovely with great balconies facing either the beach or the marina. The Level club is brilliant with its separate heated pool and well-stocked coffee, beer, wine and snacks all day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Lovely hotel! Super friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean, great location, huge room and huge bed. The free drinks and snacks (including alcohol!) in the Level lounge were a lovely surprise.

Room while not very big was very comfortable. Good mattress and linen. Quiet. 'The Level' is a bit unusual! It has generous free offerings throughout the day, snacks, tapas, and beer / wine (they could promote this better), and full bar for an hour or two in the evening. But, unfortunately the 'deck' is very disappointing with a tiny 'pool' and after about 11am it doesn't get any more sun, so not a place to really sit out on for the rest of the day. Also getting to the 'level' requires a lot of walking through the hotel. All a bit strange. Right next to beach, which is great, and just across the road and you are in the 'old town'. All a bit mixed overall. Unlikely to stay here again, but wasn't so bad either.
