It is a hotel reused in an old monastery. It is a special experience. However, the design of the old building designer is not good enough. The route to the room is strange and inconvenient, and the sizes of the same room type are different. However, the new building does not have this problem, and it is very large, with a large terrace to enjoy the surrounding nature. Before our dinner, a group reserved the restaurant. I wonder if the chef was tired because of this, which made our dinner very unpalatable. This should not be the quality of pousada meals.

Historic and charming, it provides its guests with a memorable and enchanting experience. The staff, with their professionalism and charisma, make all the difference, highlighting the excellent service a guest expects. The little treat left in the room met all expectations. A good breakfast to sweeten the day and a delicious dinner, I will definitely repeat this experience. This is an excellent Pousada. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. Despite being very well adapted to being a hotel, there is still the feel of entering a true medieval castle when you arrive and head through massive gates and vaulted rooms on your way to reception. We stayed in the new wing as we were after comfort, space and a balcony with a view and we weren’t disappointed. Our room was spacious, light and had a couple of chairs from which to admire the view out over open fields. Breakfast was to the usual high standard at a pousada with some variety each day in the hot options, cheeses, cakes etc. An excellent stay although there's nothing else of much interest around nearby. Highly recommended. Our only regret was that we hadn’t booked to stay a little longer.

We stayed here in May of 2025. It is a beautiful old monastery with renovated rooms. We stayed in the upper balcony suite that had a beautiful view. There isn't much around this location but it was the perfect stop for us on our way from Porto to the Algarve coast. The pool was perfect for relaxing, we had a lovely lunch, and the staff were wonderful, albeit very overworked! We both had steak for dinner and it was less than stellar - far less steak and more eye of the round roast? The waitress didn't know what kind of steak it actually was - and it wasn't specified on the menu. The breakfast buffet was lovely. Highly recommend staying at this location, especially if just for a night or two. I wouldn't recommend a long stay here, and be advised it is not disability accessible.

the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent (diner and breakfast) and so was the swimming pool. We had a very relaxed holiday
