The 1661 Inn

The 1661 Resort is hands down my favorite place to stay on Block Island. The views are absolutely breathtaking. It's also far enough from the downtown bars and crowds that you can truly relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, while still being just a short walk or bike ride away from everything. The resort is beautiful, and the recent updates to the farm and the new spa and fitness area across the street make it even better. Everything feels fresh, thoughtfully designed, and adds to the overall experience. I can't wait to come back!

1661 is a great hotel. It is the kind of place that is homey and calm, an escape from the fast past that can be at block. The staff is caring and very professional. The inn keeper makes each stay personable and welcoming. We have stayed here before and we will again!

Beautiful property, convenient location, and walkable from the ferry terminal. The staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Bonus was the organic farm across the street with all of the animals =) The property also owns a local farm-to-table restaurant that has excellent service and food. My husband and I can't wait to return with our family.

Everything was great except the bed was as hard as a rock! Besides that we loved the breakfast. We would stay at this property again.

Perfect location, very quiet with beautiful grands and wonderful view. Our room exceeded our expectations and the breakfast was absolutely amazing, so many choices, something for everyone. We very much enjoyed our stay and are very grateful to all the staff for their attention to our needs and kindness.

Great property overall. Excellent walkable location to downtown and dining options. Wonderful wine and nibbles offered daily. Spectacular views and outdoor patio. They offer a buffet breakfast which is a value in itself. We will be back!

The property is so well maintained! The staff was wonderful. The evening complimentary wine and cheese hour was so nice! The champagne breakfast Buffett was excellent! We had a water front room which was unbelievable

A piece of Heaven right here at the 1661 Inn. All staff were helpful, polite and very pleasant. Everything you can imagine for breakfast, and it was all delicious. The view from the deck off of our room was breathtaking. Our champagne and cookies were waiting for us which was a great way to start off our fun time on the Island.

Upon arrival, the gentleman who greeted us was extemly nice and professional. However, he didnt know wich room or area we were staying in. He asked if we were staying in the Farm house we said yes. He then began to ask if we were sure we wanted to stay in that room since it was two bedrooms and there was only two of us. (Absolutely this is what we paid for.) He took us to the farm suite wich i thought was very nice. Until he opened the door and there was another guests stuff in the room. He apologized, we all had a laugh, and then i pulled up my reservation and confirmed it was the apartment not the suite. He drove us back to the lobby to get the farm house suite key. I was willing to let that go, this morning we were trying to catch the 11:00am ferry. We stoped in the lobby to return our key and grab breakfast wich is listed from 8am-11am. We walked in at 10:20 asked the person cleaning the tables if we could grab some breakfast and were told no, its too late. So to be honest, this "resort" has no real food on site, they do 30-45 minutes of "champagn and nibble" in the evening, and breakfast for 2 hours at 8am. Note to the owner: Subpar experience for $500 a night.
