This is the New Ginsui Onsen Hotel in Nishiizu, where the Japanese Emperor and Empress once stayed. It boasts breathtaking ocean views, a pool, and a beach. Although it's an older hotel, it doesn't feel dated at all.

Although the rainy weather meant we couldn't experience the cruise or the tombolo phenomenon, our hotel stay was incredibly satisfying. The breakfast and dinner buffet was the best I've ever had at any hotel. The expansive lobby and the views from the hot springs were also superb.

The hotel's location and views are absolutely stunning, truly befitting a place where the Emperor himself has stayed. The Japanese-style rooms are quite spacious, and the tatami mats are good quality and feel relatively new. The onsen (hot spring) bath is quite large, and the outdoor section offers fantastic views with comfortable water temperature. Breakfast was a bit better quality than dinner. As for dinner (see photo), it felt a bit lacking compared to some of the onsen hotels I've stayed at in Hakone and Shiretoko.

This hotel in Nishi-Izu has an excellent location, within walking distance of Tenso Island. The parking lot is spacious, and the hotel offers a wide range of entertainment facilities on the first floor. The restaurant is also very good, with an abundant selection of food.

During my two-week trip in Japan, this was unfortunately the worst hotel I stayed at. First of all, the price is not cheap, but the level of service does not match the cost. When I arrived at the parking area, there were many empty parking spaces available, yet I was not allowed to use them and had to park in a charging station space instead, which was confusing and inconvenient. The hotel lobby looks luxurious and impressive, but the guest rooms are extremely outdated and feel like they have not been renovated since the 1980s. The bathroom sink was unusually low, and I had to bend down every time I washed my face or brushed my teeth, which became quite uncomfortable. The only real advantage of this hotel is the view, which is indeed beautiful. However, at this price point, there are many better options available. Another thing that I found very unpleasant was the loudspeaker announcement reminding guests to check out. I personally felt this was quite impolite. If the hotel needs to remind guests about check-out, calling the room telephone would be much more appropriate. The loudspeaker announcement felt more like being told to leave immediately rather than being treated as a guest. I also believe the hot spring tax should be clearly explained during check-in, especially if it must be paid regardless of whether guests use the bath facilities. Being informed only at check-out was disappointing and caused unnecessary confusion. In addition, the English communication at the front desk was very limited. Unfortunately, I had difficulty understanding what the staff were trying to explain, which made the experience even more frustrating as an international traveler. Overall, despite the beautiful view, the outdated facilities, communication issues, and service experience did not justify the price. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.

Pros: • Stunning sea views from the room. • Fantastic dining with a huge spread for breakfast and dinner. • Relaxing outdoor onsen overlooking the ocean. • Great location: walking distance to the cave skylight and cruise. • Bus stop to Shuzenji Station is right outside. Cons: Facilities and rooms feel a bit outdated.

Clean environment but building was quite dated hence room had a slight musty smell. Onsen was big and had many showers to accommodate, but did not feel crowded. Buffet breakfast and dinner had a great selection.
