It's a nice old mansion converted to a hotel, but we were in the courtyard room. That was the last available room when I booked, and honestly I didn't realize the full meaning of "courtyard room" at the time of booking. I naively thought it would have a view on the courtyard, but actually it was a separate building that used to be the maids' quarter. So we didn't really have access to the facilities. Breakfast was good.

Questions emailed to the hotel prior to our arrival was answered quickly and was very helpful.  A very warm welcome on arrival by Miss Mary who was also the one who wa replying to our emails.  Friendly staff. Gave us great suggestions on what to see and do in the area.  We highly recommend this place to everyone.

There for a weekend with friends. Minor points for improvement heated plates for Dinner and food hotter.. No cocktail mixers which would be an asset. Due to cold weather more grit/salt for steps and parking area as very slippy. Staff were pleasant and food tasty. Great Building and Location

Only had a short stay but the hotel was beautiful, the staff were amazing and the room was great. Shame it was only a short visit would have liked to been here longer. Would highly recommend staying here.

Had a lovely stay in a superior room with lovely views out to the Firth. The rooms were a little bit jaded but clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.
