Grand Ambiance Hotel

At first glance, this hotel looked very nice, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Upon arrival, the room was very hot, so we turned on the AC right away. The bathroom looked newly renovated, but used towels were left on the floor and the trash can hadn't been emptied from the previous guests. Not a great start, but we tried to look past it. The next morning, however, we woke up to a wet floor: the air conditioning couldn't drain its condensation water and was leaking straight into the room! We had to put the trash can underneath it to catch the drips, as sleeping in 30-degree heat wasn't an option. Then, when showering, the drain barely worked, leaving the entire bathroom flooded. It might look modern, but there is clearly something wrong with the drainage. A working AC is an absolute necessity here, and it seriously needs replacing. Waking up to the sound of water dripping into a bin is not ideal, and the guests after us are definitely going to have wet feet in the carpet...

My husband booked this hotel for me because I had a connecting flight in Istanbul and needed a place to rest between flights. Since the hotel is listed as pet-friendly, I arrived with my small dog in a carrier. After a long flight I was already exhausted, and I had also spent money on a taxi from the airport to get there. The hotel is located quite far out — basically in a field, in a private residential area with no nearby infrastructure — which is important to mention. As soon as I got out of the taxi, a young man saw me with my small dog and immediately started aggressively insisting that they do not accept animals and that it is supposedly written on their Booking listing (which is not true). The hotel clearly appears in pet-friendly search results. I might have taken this news more calmly if I hadn’t had to travel all the way there and back at my own expense, and if the tone of the young man had been even slightly more respectful. Instead, he started literally shouting at me the moment I stepped out of the taxi with a large suitcase, bags, and my dog, as if I had no reason to be there at all. Also, inside this private house they call a hotel, there are cats living there. I’m not sure how that matches their position of not allowing animals. Overall, this was a very unpleasant and stressful experience, especially after a long journey.

I made a reservation at this hotel in early February for a trip to Istanbul for myself and a friend, securing it with a valid credit card. About a week before our scheduled stay, the hotel began sending repeated messages via *********** claiming that my card had been declined and requesting that I provide a different one or risk cancellation. In response, I updated my payment details multiple times (four different cards in total), all of which were valid and successfully used for other transactions during the same period. Despite this, each card was allegedly “declined” by the hotel. Communication was minimal and unhelpful, and it was not possible to reach the hotel directly by phone. Shortly thereafter, the reservation was cancelled by the hotel without any genuine attempt to resolve the issue. This experience felt highly unprofessional and raises serious concerns about the reliability of their booking process. It gives the impression that the reservation may have been cancelled to accommodate another guest at a higher rate. I would strongly discourage other travelers from relying on this hotel if they want certainty and peace of mind regarding their accommodation.

Staff made us feel welcome, it was nice buffet breakfast, very close to main atractions.walkable, great restaurants in the neiborhood.

Not the easiest of hotels to get to from taxi from airport. The hotel itself is quite quaint and well looked after, although the room size was really quite small

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect , close to everything in the historical area with easy access to public transport, shops, and restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their professionalism and kindness really made a difference. I would definitely stay here again!

Worst experience ever. The room was not as booked and everything was broken in this room. The card was declined by hotel without any reason. When we got there, the receptionist gave room with small discount. And the one truth about country - if they see tourist, they see only money.

We spent four nights at the Grand Ambiance Hotel and had an excellent experience overall. The hotel is located ideally for all the main attractions in the Old Town and there is also a nice view of the Blue Mosque from room 501. Breakfast is topically Turkish, with some homemade cakes too. The breakfast area enjoys a nice sea view too A special thanks to the two ladies running breakfast, they were wonderful. Reception staff, Shukru and Kamola in particular, are equally polite and helpful. Grand Ambiance Hotel is an excellent choice and we will be definitely back!
