Magnificent view over the city and surrounding area. Very large room with a balcony. Breakfast was somewhat basic, but understandable since I was the only guest in the hotel. The food in the restaurant was also monotonous.

DO NOT BOOK THIS Hotel. This hotel has been taken over by the Ethiopian General for his military in the ongoing conflict. We were not made aware of this by ******* or the hotel before reaching Lalibela and were shuttled to a third grade accommodation. Completely different from what I booked. This is terrible oversight from Expedia’s part sadly. If you book Lalibela Lodge, you WILL BE sent elsewhere when you arrive. Just know that.

Of all the hotels the i have stayed at all over the world this has been my best experience. If you are planning any excursions please use the travel guide Belay. He is very knowledge about the history past and presnt of this area with reasonable rates.

Great place to stay: friendly genuine staff, large and comfortable rooms. Great panoramic view of the town and area. Manager was so helpful and friendly showing us the Churches and local coffee and juice bars. Great tours with very knowledgeable guides. Excellent airport shuttle services. An experience for life, thanks very much!
