Where do I start as Christmas Day at Hawkstone Hall was the best we ever had. So, I will start at the start. You start your journey by driving through the beautiful grounds and then you turn the bend and are greeted by the beautiful, extremely well maintained and imposing Hall. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and shown some places we could sit prior to our Christmas Lunch. When you looked around the feeling and look of Christmas was everywhere, beautiful Christmas trees adorned many of the rooms and to have a gentleman playing Christmas tunes on the organ was wonderful. After drinking our Kir Royals, we were shown to our seats in the chapel area. What a beautiful room, we were greeted by friendly waiting staff and again treated to another gentleman playing Christmas tunes. Our table had been thoughtfully planned out with individual touches, which were name places, and our own menu’s showing what we had chosen for the day. Sometimes large eating areas can be not very warm, but not here, it was a very pleasant temperature. There were lots of waiting staff and management, waiting in the wings if you needed anything, never intrusive, and most definitely people who enjoyed their job and wanted to be there. Some places you go to, staff will gather together and talk amongst themselves, ignoring guests, this was definitely not the case at Hawkstone, Your staff and management are a total asset to you. Our food from start to finish was beautifully presented, and the best I have tasted in a long time, so very big compliments to Chef and the kitchen team. Our table was ours for the day and we never ever felt that we needed to move from the table. We happily spent 4 hours at the table, as this was an occasion not to be rushed. When we were ready to leave our table, we were told we could have a walk around the Hall, and that there were many places we could sit and enjoy a cocktail and a cosy fire, So we did, we had a lovely walk around, and what a beautiful place you have, everything is in pristine condition. We opted to have a cocktail first in the library area, then after an hour, we went into to one of the very snuggly bar/lounge areas with a roaring fire and another magnificent Christmas tree. We really did not want the day to end it was just magical from start to finish, we were probably with you 6 hours and just felt so welcomed by everyone, in such a relaxed atmosphere. We keep thinking of our Christmas Day with you even now, and we still keep tell everyone how wonderful it was. Please keep doing what you do, you defiantly have the magical touch. Lisa & Neil Hill.

What a wonderfully impressive hotel set in the seclusion of over 80 acres of its own grounds. Visually stunning from the outside and just as beautiful on the inside. We had a lovely quiet room that had an uninterrupted view across fields. The staff were very friendly and we could not fault the service. The chef and his team produced excellent meals with the dinners being exceptional. We will return.

The pungent stench of an over cooked amalgamation of mush brewing from the kitchen is breathtakingly bad and it rises up through the building and into the upper ground floors where at this stage your'e hit with the smell of a soil stack which is placed 2 feet away from a window which is allowed to make its way through the rooms too. The roomkeeping washing area at the bottom of the stairs also allows for the entire ground floor to smell of urine which also takes your breathe away and gives the instant feel of being in a care home. It is completely unfathomable that no member of staff pick up on these putrid details or as I suspect have just got used to it.

Lovely welcome. Glass of Prosecco on arrival. Very clean, comfortable quiet room with lots of nice little extras. We didn’t eat in the evening but enjoyed a nice full English breakfast. Will definitely return.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my grandparents’ diamond wedding anniversary. Staff were very pleasant throughout our visit and went the extra mile to congratulate my grandparents and give us a warm welcome. The environment of the restaurant was breathtaking and extremely well maintained which was a credit to the hotel and restaurant and made our visit very special. The reason I have given my review 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the food, which was quite underwhelming. Service was great (if a little slow) however the tofu in my starter was not cooked properly and was underseasoned. My risotto just was very underwhelming for the price paid, it tasted like something I could have bought from the supermarket. My dessert was also very dry, and again something I felt I could have got better from the supermarket. Not a bad meal, but the quality of the food definitely did not reflect the high price and atmosphere of the hotel.

Was fortunate to attend the most incredible wedding at Hawkstone . It had been taken exclusively for the wedding party weekend and was simply out of this world both inside and out. It even has its own stunning chapel in the grounds for the ceremony . From the moment we arrived the staff could not have done more . A lovely receptionist even helped us to our room . Could not fault this experience, it’s truly dreamy .
