Villa Las Tronas Hotel & Spa

I stayed for three nights at this beautiful hotel. The location was absolutely stunning with a gorgeous view and plenty of green space for leisure. So close to everything in the tourist district but removed from the noise and felt absolutely elegant here. I did not get to eat at the restaurant as it is completely fish and my husband is allergic but the breakfast was just ok. This is a beautiful romantic place to stay.

This place is in shabby shape and falling apart. Any updates are incongruent with the beautiful mansion it probably was in the 1880s. The decor is horrific and the mattresses are terrible. The pool is basically a concrete hole that is sloppily painted blue at the water line instead of being tiled. Don’t plan on swimming laps in it or you’ll feel like you ate a pound of salt after five minutes. There is an indoor pool at the spa but it suffers from the same salt issue. No one is manning the desk at the spa. The only source of shade when facing the sea are beach umbrellas. If the wind is up, the umbrellas come down and there is a dearth of shady spots from which to admire the view. This hotel also requires full payment before your stay which I’ve come to realize means you are stuck with it with no refund even if your bed felt like it was a wooden board and you got no sleep. The hotel needs at least a $10 million rennovation and is in desperate need of an interior designer. Here are a few positives: it is well located just on the edge of the historic center of Alghero; and the sea view from the room and balcony rooms are beautiful. It also has parking. Overall, the value was horrible and if you rent a car, stay outside Alghero at a nice 4 star like El Faro. Our stay was very disappointing.

The hotel was beautiful, with it's terraces, pool and sunset facing gardens. Staff were all polite and professional. Only 15 minutes walk from the pretty town of Alghero so ideally located

We thoroughly enjoyed a 10 day stay in this interesting hotel. The room wasn’t huge but it was nicely decorated and comfortable with a wonderful sea view terrace. Breakfast had a reasonable selection of fresh fruit and pastries with freshly prepared eggs. Our only real negative was that the lunch and dinner menus did not change throughout our stay but the food was of a good quality and tasty. The pool area was quiet with beautiful sea views and the main town was only a 10 to 15 minute walk along the promenade. All of the front of house team were very pleasant and always on hand to provide help and guidance.

Delicious wonderful dining experience with a gorgeous setting. That’s like out of a story book. All the food was worth every penny cooked perfection presentation beautiful the property itself if we had known about it, we would’ve stayed there instead of across the street at the Carlos five Spa I would give it a five star, but given the difficulty and securing the reservation I have to give it a four I feel like it was an act of Congress just to get a reservation our front desk Clark called twice for us and they were supposed to get back with us and never did so. I took it upon myself to call and was able to secure it thank goodness as we were celebrating my friend‘s birthday otherwise it would be five star beautiful beautiful grounds.

What a location, great service, outstanding food, and the overall experience is exemplary. Highly recommend..

We stayed at Villa Las Tronas in July in a room which had a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. We can't fault the staff and their courtesy. The building and grounds are magnificent. Everything is at the hotel if you decide you don't want to venture out - pool, ocean, bar, dining, spa. If you do want to take in Alghero and its surrounds, the hotel is a short walk from the town centre and marina. If you have a car, nearby beaches and towns are easily accessible. It may be a bit more expensive than some other hotels in the area, however it deserves its 5-star rating, and if you want a few days of indulgence, this is the place to stay.
