Le Clos d'Emile - Centre Ville

My husband and I had marvelous stay at the recently renovated le Clos d’Emile Guest House Bed and Breakfast. Our room was spacious, luxurious and comfortable with a king sized bed, crisp, sparkling linens. The bathroom offered bath large and soft bath towels and luxury toiletries. Location could not have been better - close to the city center yet on a quiet street a few doors down from the Jardin Public. We instantly decompressed when we walked in the door to the relaxing decor and ambiance of this beautifully appointed accommodation. Our host Aïda was a highlight to our stay experience- warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home and offering wonderful recommendations on restaurants and things to do. Our custom breakfasts prepared by Tony and sometimes Aïda were delicious. We highly recommend le Clos d’Emile for an extraordinary stay experience in Bordeaux.

We booked this property on VRBO months before our arrival on May 1. Received confirmation that booking was good and payment was taken. Unfortunately, upon arrival (after a very long travel day), there was no one to let us into the property and we were unable to get ahold of the hosts. VRBO was also unable to contact the hosts so we were refunded our money but were left scrambling at 9 pm to find alternative accommodations which came at a much steeper cost.

This is the highlight of our Bordeaux trip. The house is tucked away in a nice neighborhood right next to Jardin Public and not too far from the centre of Bordeaux. We ride a bike every day around town. Aida was very welcoming and her service is top notch. We were tired on our first morning there and she offered to bring breakfast to our bedroom. She truly loves her job and wanted us to feel like we are home so she’s always trying her best to fulfill our wishes. Any dinner recommendation, places to buy wine, just a text and she would reply right away. I love her so much. Our room was super spacious and clean, very comfortable bed. The room was cleaned daily and we always come back to an immaculate tidy room. Love our stay and can’t wait to come back ❤️

Le Clos d'Emile is a truly luxurious Guest House in Bordeaux, and is without doubt one of the best we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exceptional. The rooms were elegant and refined "dignes d’un hôtel 5★" and the overall experience offered outstanding value for money. Richard, the owner, was the perfect host throughout our stay. A detail that perfectly sums up the experience: we crossed paths with him on our arrival, cycling back from the local cheese shop with fresh cheeses for the breakfast buffet. It’s those thoughtful, personal touches that make all the difference. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and my only regret is that we stayed for just one night. This will without hesitation be my hotel of choice for both business and leisure trips to Bordeaux.
