An unforgettable stay at Soneva Fushi – truly a very special place in the Maldives. Everything was exceptional, from the beautiful island and incredible villas to the outstanding service and attention to detail. A very special thank you to our wonderful Barefoot Guardian Sonia for taking such great care of us, and to Jennifer, the Marketing Manager, for her warm welcome, the lovely lunch and the wonderful time she spent showing us around the island. “Beautiful scenery, but a deeply disappointing and intrusive stay.” We chose this resort with high hopes for a peaceful family getaway, but our experience fell far short of the luxury price tag. The service felt self-gratifying rather than guest-focused, and our real needs were overlooked. 1. Hygiene feedback without solutions: Housekeeping commented that placing towels on the wet floor for showering was “unhygienic.” However, no extra bath-mats were proactively provided as a simple, practical solution. Guests shouldn’t be lectured when the issue is a basic service oversight. 2. Intrusive and rushed birthday arrangements: For the complimentary birthday photos, the photographer insisted on a strict 6:30 PM finish. I was heavily rushed by our butler, who even sent my 10-year-old daughter to interrupt me while I was bathing to push me to get ready. It was a complete violation of privacy and personal space. Given the rush, I had poor time for makeup, and the final photos were very poor quality. Our elaborate birthday dinner focused on grand formal procedures, yet no one reminded us or helped us capture a single family photo with my children. There was zero privacy and no respect. 3. Management follow-ups and constant noise: After my email complaints, the frequent follow-ups from the management took up a huge amount of our holiday time. Additionally, mechanical noise from the equipment room inside the villa constantly disturbed our sleep, resulting in poor rest throughout the stay. The island itself is beautiful, but the service execution and guest-oriented arrangements do not match the expectations of a top-tier luxury resort. I strongly do not recommend this place for families looking for a relaxed and restful vacation.

I love soneva fushi it is one of the best resorts in Maldives i loved the experience and the staff was do kind and helpful and the butler is the best her name is kelly the ice cream is so good there is no stealing and i love it the house keeping was so nice whenever I lost something. She’ll find it for me. Her name is maricel .A and i will for sure will come back

We just got back from an unforgettable stay at Soneva Fushi. We chose the resort to celebrate a couple of milestone birthdays and ended up getting engaged during the trip, so it will always be a special place for us. I have traveled all over the world, including many trips to Japan where the hospitality is famous, but the service here was easily the best I have ever experienced. We visited right at the start of the rainy season, but we still got plenty of sunshine and great beach days. The food was spectacular at every single meal, and the whole island has a wonderful, relaxed luxury feel to it. Our Barefoot Butler, Miqdad, completely elevated the entire trip. He was absolutely incredible and took care of our every need before we even had to ask. He made sure our birthdays and our engagement felt completely magical, bringing so much warmth and professionalism to everything he did. If you want a beautiful paradise with amazing dining and truly world class service, I cannot recommend Soneva Fushi enough. Definitely ask for Miqdad if you can. We are already looking forward to going back.

So this is I think the third time we have been since the change of ownership - I was worried things many have changed a lot. However there are minor changes, beef on most menus, changes to the HB package. But nothing that really made a difference. Apart from the usual restaurants we went to Flying Saucers again which was sensational . Once again looked after by the fantastic Ebi and the weather was like high season. We had a bit of a nightmare transfer - but lets forget that concentrate on the next 7 days of perfect weather. It still remains our favourite resorts in the Maldives and we have been to about 30. I would still request real ice cream in the So Cool !!!! Hopefully we will return soon. Thanks to everyone at Soneva Fushi, everyone is the best.

What an experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything about our stay here was magical. Our two-bedroom villa was huge, so much space to relax. The island is so well looked after. A lot of variety for dining. All the staff were so friendly. Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable time

The place is really remarkable. It is the third time for us now, and we are again impressed by it. We arrive, get on a small boat, take of shoes, and feel already good. At the beach waiting for us the same people we already know, turnover here is very low, staff are all people that know guests by name, remember their wishes and offer true kindness. And then we slow down, everything is comfortable and easy, like being on another planet… and yet like being at home. Thank you Ali, Iby, Hassan and all other amazing team members.

We spent five nights at Soneva Fushi with our two boys (7 and 3), and it was everything we hoped it would be. Before arriving I wondered whether it could really live up to the reputation, but within the first day I understood why so many people return. The island is beautiful, but what impressed us most was how relaxed everything felt. There are no shoes, everyone gets around by bike, and after a day or two you genuinely slow down. Our kids absolutely loved The Den. We've stayed at quite a few luxury family resorts over the years and I honestly think it's the best kids' club we've come across. They were excited to go every day, which meant we could actually enjoy a bit of downtime ourselves. The person who really made our trip, though, was our Barefoot Butler, Miqdad. He was friendly, proactive and somehow always seemed to appear just when we needed something. He organised for us to plant a coconut tree during our stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and he also surprised our best friends with a birthday celebration on our final night. Our first experience in the Maldives could not have been more memorable, and Soneva Fushi played a huge part in that. We left with wonderful memories, feeling completely refreshed, and already talking about returning one day. Thank you to Miqdad and the entire Soneva team for making our stay so special. We cannot recommend Soneva Fushi highly enough.

An absolute amazing magical place. The natural beauty of the location, the resort and staff are exceptional. Our barefoot butler Miqdad provided the excellent service to make our stay amazing. Everyday was filled with wonder, awe and gratitude. Will be back!
