Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa

This was my first time visiting Tibet, and I chose the Shangri-La. The front desk had a short-haired young lady who was incredibly friendly and even upgraded our room. The welcome fruit and small welcome cakes were a lovely touch. The hotel's medical room was also a lifesaver. When a family member experienced altitude sickness, they immediately got an IV and oxygen. Plus, we could take an oxygen tank back to the room for 780 RMB. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk to the Tibet Museum and a 10-minute walk to Norbulingka. Taxis are also readily available for getting around. The breakfast selection was extensive. While the afternoon tea and dinner options weren't vast, they were all delicious. My only minor complaint would be that upon check-in, no one escorted us to our room or helped with our luggage. For first-time guests, dragging two large suitcases and suffering from altitude sickness, it took a while to find our room.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to go anywhere. Although it's been around for some years, it's very well-maintained! The room is spacious and offers a view of the Potala Palace. It's exceptionally clean, but what I'm most satisfied with is the service! Our trip to Lhasa was a perfect 10👍🏻👍🏻! As soon as we landed, our butler Bowen picked us up and arranged our itinerary. Danny at the front desk and Manager Xiang provided excellent service, helping us with all our needs. Quzhen from the lounge even made us tsampa by hand, giving us an immersive taste of local culture – truly unforgettable!

The room was quite comfortable! It even came with an oxygen machine... And Butler Xiao Qu was super helpful and attentive, truly excellent! They even replied to messages in the middle of the night. The front desk service was also great, and there was a guy who brought our luggage up to the room! 👌

With every proactive greeting and meticulous action, he transformed the phrase “feeling at home” into a heartwarming reality. The best service is when guests forget they are being “served.” With Robert, I witnessed the pinnacle of hotel service: not making guests feel deliberately “cared for,” but rather, through natural kindness, having every need met silently. His every initiative, every “Okay, I’ll arrange it for you right away,” conveyed the same message: Here, you don't have to be a “guest,” just be “yourself.” The Shangri-La Hotel shines because of employees like him, and the industry is warmed by professionals like him. May this subtle light illuminate the journeys of more people, making every arrival a reunion worth looking forward to. I will definitely choose Shangri-La Hotel again for my next stay!

The hotel's ******* style is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. The room facilities are excellent and clean, and the breakfast is rich and delicious.

I bought a pre-sale package on Ctrip, and the front desk ended up upgrading me to an executive suite on the second floor. Although the hotel isn't brand new, the decor is still quite good – it feels substantial and elegant. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the two-person set menu at Shang Palace was also delicious. Ms. Guo at the front desk was particularly attentive and thoughtful; she made me feel right at home from check-in to check-out. With great facilities, food, and service, the Shangri-La Hotel Lhasa is truly good value for money.
