Disappointing stay despite the nice concept
I am an M Village Gold member, and to be fair, the hotel recognized my membership and upgraded our room, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the actual stay had several significant problems.
The biggest issue was the noise. Shortly after 7:00 AM, heavy construction work had already started, with repeated knocking, hammering and machinery noise. It was loud enough to seriously disturb our rest. For any hotel, providing a reasonable environment to sleep is a very basic expectation.
The room also had several maintenance issues. The main door had a large visible gap even when fully closed, which affected noise insulation and light coming into the room. The shower head was heavily corroded and was not functioning properly, with water spraying from the sides and rear of the fixture. The bathroom tap fixtures were also visibly deteriorated, and we experienced yellow/discolored water coming from the tap.
There was also a frustrating service issue when we called reception at night for more bottled water. What should have been a simple request required repeated questions and two phone calls before it was resolved.
The property itself has an attractive villa concept, but the villas are built quite densely, and our room had limited natural light.
Overall, the problem was not that the hotel was simply “not our taste.” The issues were much more basic: early-morning construction noise, poorly maintained bathroom equipment, discolored water, and a room that was not properly sealed.
There are some good aspects to the property, and the upgrade was appreciated, but based on our experience, the overall standard fell clearly below what we expected from a hotel positioned at this level.
