We chose MGM West Bund for New Year's Eve. Betty had contacted us early via WeChat to ask about our needs and helped us prepare a kids' toiletries set. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a Deluxe River View room and received a handwritten card, a small cake, fruit, and a little lion plush toy. The deluxe room was indeed spacious at over 60 square meters, with a great view of Xupu and Minpu Bridges. The Huangpu River looked quite beautiful when the sunlight shimmered on its surface.
Breakfast was excellent with many choices, including freshly made congee. The coffee had the MGM logo printed on it, which was a nice touch.
Betty kept in touch throughout our stay to check if everything was going smoothly and even helped us extend our check-out time (though we didn't end up using it due to a change in our plans). The cleaning staff promptly replenished supplies, and during turndown service, they even left a small sachet and extra water when they saw we had a child.
The Chinese restaurant was also very good; I particularly enjoyed the crispy pork and the 'Shen Yu Luo Yan' dessert. The Western restaurant, however, felt a bit mediocre; the pizza we ordered was already a bit cold when it arrived.
One minor drawback was that it was very cold by the window; we had to draw the thick curtains for a bit of warmth, which seems to be a design flaw of the building.
Overall, we were very satisfied; both the soft and hardware aspects were excellent.
