MGM Shanghai West Bund

Checked in on January 1st, and even though the hotel was busy, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating 👍. We had to wait a bit longer than expected for our room, but we were lucky enough to get an upgrade! 🥰🥰 We had a very comfortable stay with beautiful views, and the kids had a blast 🥳🥳. It's been 8 years, and we're in a different city, but staying at MGM again still managed to surprise us 💖💖💖. The front desk staff, both the guys and ladies, were all so nice 🌷🌷! And when we checked out, I just mentioned that the kids had a great time, and the front desk immediately gave us a little lion toy! It was truly a wonderful trip filled with constant surprises 🤩🤩🤩.

We chose MGM West Bund for New Year's Eve. Betty had contacted us early via WeChat to ask about our needs and helped us prepare a kids' toiletries set. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a Deluxe River View room and received a handwritten card, a small cake, fruit, and a little lion plush toy. The deluxe room was indeed spacious at over 60 square meters, with a great view of Xupu and Minpu Bridges. The Huangpu River looked quite beautiful when the sunlight shimmered on its surface. Breakfast was excellent with many choices, including freshly made congee. The coffee had the MGM logo printed on it, which was a nice touch. Betty kept in touch throughout our stay to check if everything was going smoothly and even helped us extend our check-out time (though we didn't end up using it due to a change in our plans). The cleaning staff promptly replenished supplies, and during turndown service, they even left a small sachet and extra water when they saw we had a child. The Chinese restaurant was also very good; I particularly enjoyed the crispy pork and the 'Shen Yu Luo Yan' dessert. The Western restaurant, however, felt a bit mediocre; the pizza we ordered was already a bit cold when it arrived. One minor drawback was that it was very cold by the window; we had to draw the thick curtains for a bit of warmth, which seems to be a design flaw of the building. Overall, we were very satisfied; both the soft and hardware aspects were excellent.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a great view. It's located in the Xuhui Riverside area, close to the subway station, making it very convenient for getting around.

The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities. The breakfast was very rich, and the rooftop bar was unique. It was very pleasant to run in the gym while enjoying the beautiful view outside the window. I left something in the room, and the hotel staff helped me find it. I'm very satisfied.

Our trip to Shanghai was made truly exceptional by the MGM Cotai West Bund, especially thanks to Cici from Guest Relations for providing us with such an amazing experience. From the meticulous inquiries during booking to accompanying us throughout the check-in process, she consistently handled every detail with a warm smile and professional demeanor. When we casually mentioned our desire to try authentic local Shanghai cuisine, she not only recommended genuine restaurants but also personally helped us book a table. This level of sincere assistance, going beyond typical hotel service, was incredibly valuable. We've decided that the MGM Cotai West Bund will be our go-to choice for all future trips to Shanghai, and we'll recommend it to all friends who appreciate art and refined living – not just for the superb river views and facilities, but more importantly, for encountering professional partners like Cici who add warmth to your journey.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. I'd especially like to commend Zora for making us feel right at home throughout our visit. Thanks to her, we had a wonderful New Year's Eve! The only downside was an unpleasant encounter with two incredibly unprofessional staff members in the elevator. I saw them helping to deliver a food order to a room, and I commented to my family that the hotel's service was excellent, as a bouquet of flowers I'd ordered earlier was also delivered to my room. To my surprise, one of the staff members interjected, saying, "We don't offer that service! If you want it, go downstairs and get it yourself." This immediately put me in an awkward position and completely ruined the good mood we were in. I hope MGM takes this seriously and provides better training for their staff!
