Phuket Kata Resotel

My kids chose Phuket for their holiday, and I'd been here 10 years ago but couldn't remember where I stayed. This time, we decided to split our stay between Karon and Kata to get a feel for both areas. After a careful search on Ctrip, I finally picked this Kata resort. **Location:** The hotel was a bit tricky to find at first; it's not right on the main street, and there are so many hotels nearby. We initially ended up at the hotel next door because they share a wall, and navigation isn't as precise here as in China. (I usually find Gaode Maps quite reliable.) The area right outside the hotel is very lively, with a market that makes shopping and dining incredibly convenient, plus a 7-Eleven. The beach is a short four to five-minute walk away, which isn't bad at all. **Service:** The staff were decent, nothing outstanding but perfectly fine. The front desk was happy to help when I needed change, so no complaints about the service. **Facilities:** While the entrance looks unassuming, the inside is a pleasant surprise. The hotel is quite large, divided into front and back courtyards. Our room was in the back courtyard with direct pool access, and the hotel environment was fantastic – very satisfied. The room size was as described, neither too big nor too small, which was acceptable. We were traveling with our 15-year-old, and the rule in Phuket hotels is that double rooms are for two people only; any extra person requires an additional bed. This hotel charged 900 Thai Baht per day for an extra bed. Hotels in Phuket aren't exactly new, but their facilities aren't exactly old either; I found them acceptable. **Food:** Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The food was a bit less impressive compared to other hotels I've stayed at – pretty average, and the selection was somewhat limited, but enough to fill up. **Summary:** Hotels on Kata Beach generally aren't very grand because the area is relatively livelier and more crowded than Karon, with narrower and more congested streets. However, this doesn't detract from the holiday experience; it's just a different vibe, which is actually quite nice. The bustling area outside offers easy access to food, and the beach has a long coastline. It's more crowded than Karon but the waves are gentle, making it suitable for families with young children. Overall, it was a good experience and worth trying.

Beautiful green grounds. Good breakfast (might seem a bit repetitive to some, but over 5 days we always found plenty to eat without issue). There's a coffee break with light snacks included in the price. A quiet hotel with a great location.

This is an older resort hotel with a rather outdated design and decor. The price of around 300 is reasonable. The location is quite secluded and a bit hard to find.

This hotel is a hidden gem! It's not far from Licata Beach, offering a peaceful retreat despite being close to the action. Right outside, there's a night market, but once you walk through it and into the hotel, it's incredibly quiet. The direct pool access from the rooms is super convenient for a swim, though do note there are no kids' facilities.

The breakfast menu changes daily, offering a good variety of dishes – I had fried rice and pasta, among others. The hotel is super close to Kata Beach, just a 2-3 minute walk. While the area around the beach is bustling, the hotel itself is very clean and quiet. They even have several adorable hotel cats! Right outside, you'll find street food stalls, massage parlors, and a 7-Eleven, making it perfect for a holiday. Whether you want to surf at the beach or get a massage, everything is right there. It's also really close to fruit stands and laundromats, which is incredibly convenient.

My partner and I absolutely loved this hotel and had an unforgettable vacation here. They have a lot of friendly cats, and the breakfast was delicious and fresh. The location is set back from the bustling main street, but once you step inside, it's a completely different world – incredibly quiet with a beautiful environment that truly gives off a holiday vibe. The staff are also very welcoming; they always greeted us. All in all, I'll definitely be back to this hotel next time.
