When planning our trip to Quanzhou, I debated between a guesthouse in the old city and a brand-name hotel. Ultimately, I felt a star-rated hotel would be more reliable and suitable for traveling with a child. It turned out to be a wise choice! Although this Crowne Plaza Riverside is about a 5km drive from the old city, getting around by taxi is incredibly convenient. Facilities: During our three-day, two-night stay in Quanzhou, we primarily explored the old city. On the rainy day, we took our child to the hotel pool, enjoyed the 'stargazing' afternoon tea in the lobby, and had dinner at Cai Feng Lou. We basically experienced all the hotel's facilities. The swimming pool was very clean, and the food was delicious, though a bit pricey with the added service charge and 6% tax points. Room: The toiletries were Antipodes, and I loved the scent! The bed had a semi-enclosed headboard, meaning we couldn't push beds together (a unique need for families with kids). Most importantly, the water and electricity were excellent! It definitely surpassed any guesthouse. Service: We received a small gift upon arrival, and the hotel's account manager, One Xu, even waived the first round of the mini-bar. 🙏

This trip to Quanzhou was for the Xunpu flower garland experience, and I decisively chose the Crowne Plaza Quanzhou Riverside. After the entire stay, all I can say is: InterContinental's quality truly didn't disappoint. They seamlessly blend maritime silk road charm with comfort into every single detail! Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately struck by the stunning design. The boat-shaped light fixtures on the ceiling resemble waves floating on the sea, subtly embedding Quanzhou's maritime heritage into the design, creating an incredible atmosphere. During check-in, the front desk attendant, One, was super attentive and even upgraded me to an executive river view room on the 32nd floor! Opening the window, I was truly amazed: the floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offered a direct view of the sparkling Jinjiang River. In the evening, the sunset painted the river orange, and at night, the neon lights of Quanzhou city lit up along the riverbank. Half an hour spent just staring out the window felt too short. The room facilities were all new, and the bedding had just the right firmness. As someone who has trouble sleeping in new places, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and slept until morning. The large bathtub by the window was an even bigger surprise; the pleasure of soaking in the tub while enjoying the river view completely washed away the fatigue from traveling. The amenities were Crowne Plaza's signature Shanghai Tang series, with an elegant and sophisticated fragrance – attention to detail was evident everywhere. The dining experience truly mastered Minnan flavors! The congee and oyster omelet at the breakfast buffet had customizable toppings, and paired with local Minnan side dishes, one bite immediately made me understand the joy of the locals. The extensive variety of Chinese and Western dishes meant I could eat for three days without repeating, and the authentic flavors were far from typical tourist fare. The happy hour at the executive lounge even offered freshly mixed cocktails; sipping a drink while enjoying the river breeze was incredibly relaxing.

We stayed at the Binjiang Holiday Hotel for our family trip to Quanzhou, and it was a fantastic experience! ✨ The room was clean and spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. It was incredibly quiet at night, allowing us to get a great rest after a full day of sightseeing. It was very convenient to take a taxi to West Street and Luojia Temple. Getting to the train station and airport was also easy. The breakfast offered a rich variety of options, including authentic Southern Fujian snacks. A special thanks to One for their warm and attentive service, which made our trip even more pleasant. We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Quanzhou.

Had a very pleasant stay. The service was excellent and incredibly thoughtful. Any questions I had on WeChat were answered instantly. Breakfast was plentiful with many Quanzhou local specialties, and the taste was great too. Overall, a very comfortable experience.

The hotel's overall service was excellent, especially One's attentive service. The breakfast was very good and highly recommended. The pool water was nice, though it was a bit crowded. The room's facilities were complete and very comfortable. I recommend staying here.

The hotel is conveniently located right across the river from Quanzhou Ancient City, making it easy to reach many city attractions by taxi. The staff are incredibly responsive to requests, and there's a concierge at the entrance to assist guests – One, in particular, provided excellent service. The bedding is comfortable, the environment is quiet, and the water pressure in the shower is great, making for a pleasant bathing experience. The gym is well-equipped, and the pool is also very good. The restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast options, both Chinese and Western, catering to all needs.

The hotel is in a new district, making it convenient for self-driving with easy parking and charging. Breakfast was just so-so. The restaurant staff were very polite. We booked a river view room, but didn't get an upgrade and were even charged an extra breakfast fee for our child. The front desk staff didn't smile at all throughout the process, which made me wonder if they have something against people from Shanghai! On the other hand, the hostess at the breakfast entrance was quite friendly, polite, and welcoming! Next time I'm in Quanzhou, I probably won't try an InterContinental hotel again. I'll stick with Marriott; it's much more comfortable!

Overall, the service far exceeded my expectations. The hotel's breakfast rice noodle soup was on par with the famous Shuimen Guozai in the local area, and the fresh seafood at the dinner buffet, cooked to order, was absolutely amazing. The hotel isn't far from the old town, but it's much less crowded, offering far better value for money than other upscale budget hotels.
