Edgewater Hotel

The location is fantastic, and the hotel staff are actually very welcoming. The room is cozy with a very comfortable bed, and the housekeeping is spotless. The only minor drawback was that a snack left behind by the previous guest hadn't been completely cleared away. It was probably because that guest hadn't touched it, so the cleaning staff weren't sure and thought it was a complimentary treat for us.

The rooms here are huge, and it's located very close to that famous lonely tree. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food, and the front desk even provides a full set of tennis rackets and golf clubs—very high-end! Wanaka is such a cozy little town; it's not as commercialized as Tekapo or Queenstown, nor is it as remote and untouched as Pukaki. The pebbles along the lake shore are relatively fine, making the waterfront a very pleasant place to live. The locals all walk or run with their dogs by the lake, giving it a wonderfully relaxing, small-town retirement vibe.

Our stay at Edgewater in Wanaka was fantastic overall, especially the views – they truly made the experience unforgettable! We were incredibly lucky to get a free room upgrade at the front desk during the National Day holiday. Our room was on the second floor with excellent views, and opening the window immediately revealed the beautiful scenery of Lake Wanaka, significantly enhancing our entire stay. The hotel's location is also superb, very close to the famous 'Wanaka Tree,' probably just tens to a hundred meters' walk away, making it super convenient to stroll by the lake and enjoy the scenery in the mornings and evenings. The hotel service was generally attentive. While not overly enthusiastic, all necessary services and communication were handled well, making for a very comfortable stay. If you're coming to Wanaka, I highly recommend Edgewater. Its biggest advantages are the views and location, especially for those who want to truly enjoy the Lake Wanaka scenery and have a relaxing holiday. Overall, this stay was very satisfying, and I'm really glad we were fortunate enough to get a room upgrade during the National Day period!

1. I stayed in a Signature Suite and was lucky enough to get room 111, which was incredibly close to the lake. Stepping out, you're greeted by a vast expanse of lush green lawn, with the lake reflecting the snow-capped mountains – absolutely stunning. 2. The room facilities were excellent, and the kitchen's color scheme was very harmonious. The Bosch washer-dryer combo was incredibly convenient. There's no open flame in the kitchen, but the induction hob was good enough for making simple meals. 3. The hotel's location is a bit far from the town center, about a 30-minute walk. Driving is more convenient, as it's very difficult to find a taxi in Wanaka. 4. My only regret: the Signature Suite didn't have a bathtub, while the standard suites did.

So beautiful! We were assigned a room on the ground floor with a kitchen, so we cooked hotpot and absolutely loved our two-day stay. There's a free tennis court and bike rentals available too.

The room amenities were decent. It was a bit cold, but an electric blanket was provided. The hotel's surroundings are lovely—it's right by the lake. Having breakfast in the morning while zoning out to the views of the lake and snow-capped mountains was such a chill vibe~

The room was very spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an absolutely stunning view of the pond. It was also quite close to the 'Lonely Tree'. Parking right in front of the room is a bit of a gamble, depending on luck. The room was well-equipped with cutlery, pots, and pans.

The scenery is pleasant, the service is warm and attentive, and the dinner at the restaurant is excellent! Special shout-out to the lady at the front desk!

The hotel boasts fantastic views, and there's ample parking right outside the rooms. The lake view is stunning. The room decor and bathroom are very upscale, and they offer free amenities like a spa and tennis court.
