Grand Hyatt Kunming

An absolutely wonderful hotel! It's one of the most comfortable places I've stayed in during my travels in recent years. The room was very spacious, and the design details were beautiful. As someone who's a super clean freak, I usually wipe down surfaces when I check into a hotel. Here, after wiping, the wet wipes were perfectly clean, which speaks volumes. You can directly access the Hang Lung Plaza via a skybridge, which is incredibly convenient. They even upgraded my room to the 24th floor, offering views of distant mountains and the city. Fresh and delicious fruit was delivered daily. A special thanks to Bianca, who was incredibly kind and attentive.

My stay this time was a repeat visit, based on a previously good experience, but the overall feeling was a letdown compared to before, and I'd even say it was quite poor. 1. The welcome fruit wasn't prepared in the room beforehand; I had to call for it myself after checking in and settling in for a while. 2. Turndown service was only provided upon request. If that's the case, I don't really see the point of having it. 3. The bedding was damaged, and this wasn't checked or noticed beforehand, even though it was quite obvious on the surface. 4. The breakfast service was practically non-existent. Staff couldn't even clear plates without being asked and didn't say anything. Even after circling my table twice, they still didn't take away the leftover plates. Maybe they were just too busy. 5. They say the Eggs Benedict is a test of a restaurant chef's skill... and sure enough, this was quite a surprise (in a bad way). Most of these issues were already communicated to the hotel before my departure. The main reason I stayed again was because of the duty manager, Perry, and I kept going to him to resolve all the problems I encountered this time. He was sincere, proactive in communication, and actively worked to solve issues during the coordination process. His service sincerity and attitude were quite good, so this positive rating is mainly for him personally.
