Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing Beijing

The location is fantastic, the room is spacious, and the service is excellent. The staff's uniforms with shawls are also very elegant. Although the hotel is small, it does have a swimming pool, which my child thoroughly enjoyed. The bedding and bathrobes in the room are great, especially the double-sided silk bathrobe, which is truly wonderful. The cashmere blanket on the bed is also very good.

Had a wonderful 3-day trip in Beijing with my mom, and the experience at Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing Beijing was absolutely superb! The view from the terrace was breathtaking, especially catching such a magnificent sunset in the evening! After a lot of walking during the day, we slept so well at night! Stena was incredibly kind and polite, taking beautiful photos of us, and the complimentary Mandarin Oriental gift was perfectly to my liking!

I brought my family to Beijing this time, and our overall experience was excellent. The staff were all wonderful, and I especially want to thank Stena, Lina, Mavis, and Peter for their service. We will definitely come back again.

Everything was top-notch. Clean, beautiful, and made with care. The only downsides were the rather repetitive breakfasts and the paid water. But the view from the terrace definitely made it worth the price.

The service was excellent. We arrived a bit late, and turndown service had already been done. Someone even guided us to our room. When I lost my room key at the bar, the bartender helped me contact the front desk and retrieve it. We received a handwritten welcome letter and complimentary Beijing-style fruits and snacks, which was a nice touch. The location is superb, right next to Wangfujing Street. From the bar's terrace, you can see the Forbidden City and Chang'an Avenue. However, the public areas are quite small and, being located within a mall, feel a bit cramped.

Has the economy really declined this much? This is Mandarin Oriental Beijing we're talking about! A room rate of 5000+ per night, and the welcome fruit was just a basket of apples. If they were decent quality apples, that would be one thing, but they were inedible, so sour! The outdoor chairs were filthy and should have been replaced ages ago, covered in stains! The butler's response time was terrible; I sent a message at 7 AM and got a reply at 3 PM! The shrimp in the in-room dining salad was so fishy it was nauseating! The complimentary wine in the welcome amenity was domestic and undrinkable. If you're going to offer something, don't provide such low-quality products! The chargeable red wine in the room, over a thousand RMB, was just sitting on a bar counter with no temperature control. This will dry out the cork, and Beijing's 20+ degree Celsius temperature will affect the wine's quality and taste! Please find a director with some basic common sense!

The room had a musty smell that even an air purifier couldn't get rid of, which is a shame considering the price. It looked quite different from the promotional photos, but it's conveniently located for shopping.

The front desk staff, Stena and Lu Yifan, were incredibly warm and thoughtful. The concierge manager was also excellent. I've stayed at many hotels in Beijing, but the service here is by far the best. It's on par with the personalized butler-style service you find abroad. They even set up a chat group to promptly address any issues.

Overall, the experience at Wangfujing MO was excellent. Special thanks to Lina and Tina, two lovely ladies who were not only kind but also very efficient. Their service was just right. The mini cakes and white fungus pear soup were delicious, and the room view was stunning. The concierge service was also great. My only suggestion would be to offer a wider variety at the breakfast buffet.
