Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance

Dated hotel. The room was large but had no air conditioning. The bed was decent. Breakfast was fine. There's not much to do around the hotel unless you're into monuments and nature.

The hotel is nice and clean. It's a shame the room wasn't air-conditioned, just a fan was provided. During this heatwave, it was difficult to get some sleep. The breakfast was decent, but it's a pity there were no eggs for those who prefer a protein boost in the morning. A charming hotel with helpful staff.

Friendly staff. Perfect location for walking into Lisieux. The breakfast room, however, was unfortunately dark and gloomy.

Ideal for a pilgrimage to the Carmelite Convent of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, just a 4-minute walk from the property. Also close to the train station, about a 9-minute walk. The restaurant's cuisine and atmosphere are pleasant and warm. The staff are extremely kind, even to those who struggle with French.

For us, it was the ideal base for visiting Normandy. Very well-maintained hotel. Friendly staff. No air conditioning in the room, which made it a bit warm for sleeping due to the heatwave.

I liked the hotel, but breakfast was very basic, just the bare essentials.
