Grey Fox Inn

The Grey Fox Inn was very nice and had everything we needed for our stay. Our only issue involved a booking error. We accidentally checked in a day later than the dates that were originally booked. On our second day, we were informed that we did not actually have a reservation for that night. Because we booked through *******, the inn would not apply the unused night we had already paid for toward the additional night we needed. As a result, we had to pay for another night even though one prepaid night went unused. I understand that the original mistake was mine. However, since no one else was staying there and the room would have otherwise remained empty, I feel the inn could have shown some flexibility and allowed us to use the night we had already paid for. We paid for three nights but only stayed two, which is why I’m leaving a lower rating than I otherwise would have.

The room was nice and receptionist at check-in was friendly enough. On Sunday though, the young woman at the desk, was pretty unhelpful. The pool was closed due to a chemical problem. She said she would check levels "in a few minutes" to see if they could open. I asked her to please let me know (my room was in the hallway between the pool and her desk). She didn't. After 30 minutes I went to ask her again and she said we could use the pool, but not the hottub. I asked her if it was ok if we checked out a bit late since we had waited to swim. She looked at me blankly and just said "check-out is at 11".

We always stay here on our ski trips to Stowe. We like that it is a small, quiet, clean and comfortable property, but still big enough to have a nice indoor pool and hot tub. Our rooms are well equipped and have had everything we need for a stress-free stay. The free shuttle to Stowe Ski Area is very convenient. We feel like an part of the family when we stay here.

The room was very clean, smooth check-in. Fireplace was great, beds comfy. Really relaxing stay overall. Good location In Stowe.

I was in Stowe last weekend and broke my shoulder so the next day I stopped by the Grey Fox inn to ask the if they could please cancel my reservation because of my accident. I was aware I had made the reservation through ******* and was also aware that the cancelation date was over due. I explained the situation to the front desk girls (2) and both said I had to contact *******. I did, ******* contacted the hotel and the hotel said no...I'm sure they double sold my room since they know I was not coming...thanks for your help

Great location. Clean room and friendly staff. Very quiet as well, although I think most rooms were occupied, did not hear any noise.

I’m not one to usually post poor reviews. My challenge with this hotel centered around the poor state of the shower stall. It had active mold on the tub surround. I tried to find an amicable solution early into my stay but was delayed due to the hotels billing process. Although the staff finally came to deep clean the mold and a small refund provided, it still does not resolve the fact that cleaning staff failed to clean the shower of mold in the first place. It’s not something I would expect at a rate of $200+ a night.

The suite was newly refurbished and extremely clean. It wasn’t very big, but it was perfect for a Few days away

Everything we needed for a 4 day ski stay. The room was cleaned each day, fresh towels, comfy accommodations.
